Don’t know miles exactly but 1000-2000probably. 13 months of all the original bits, some of mates ride a lot more and all last a year on one chain cassette.

Don’t bother with the chain changing thing…

3 x £40 chains to make the cassette last maybe a bit longer just isn’t worth it in my experience. It is just guaranteed £120 rather than risking spending the £200 for the cassette a few months sooner.

Shimano cranksets are boost specific. SRAM ones aren’t as the offset comes from the chainring offset.

There is a chart on the SRAM website of which offset you need. Mine is 3mm for boost but that is a BB30 chainset. I think you might need a 0 offset for gxp.

This is why I choose B+ bike over the trek, just the general lack of parts and tyres compared to loads of new B+ stuff.

Also the fact I can run 29″ (if I want to) without needing longer forks or screwing up the geo

No you need to measure the head tube internal diameter (which means getting the old one out first) it is probably just a standard old style one but that is just a guess. I would advise getting a LBS to do it as they will have the proper tools to fit and remove and are likely to have the headset in stock.

My 3″ tyres work fine on the 38mm rims it came with.

Nice ride at 7am for a few hours on the local way-too-hard-for-me-to-ride-properly trails.

Just replace the whole headset with one that used sealed bearings.

Took it out for its first ride, and wow!

Perfectly suits my (awful) riding loads of grip most of the time and climbs no worse than my previous 32Lbs 150mm travel 650b Fs.

Had to put some volume spacers in the fork but worked well. Will have to give it try and some other places to judge but was great on super steep loamy natural trails.

Detol antibacterial stuff and scrub everything seems to work with my annual child puke incident.

As above it a very well known scam which people often get away with, “I’m going to pay over the phone and my “mate” will pick it up later” then the payment is returned as it was a stolen card.

So don’t bother with that rubish, Often a deposit is required if they are buying £x ammount of stock they wouldn’t normally have but most shops would let you transfer the deposit if it was the wrong size etc.

When you say try do you mean sit on or have a proper test ride?

I’ve just bought a £2200 hardtail… and adding enough upgrades to call it £2.5k when I’m done.

Spent £400 on a frame only previously.

There is a row of about 8 shops near me with a chippy at each end, one is always full with queues out the door on friday etc and the other I don’t think I have ever seen more than 1 person in there… yet it has been open for years.

    Holy sheeeeeeeeeeeet

Can’t see us having a great tournament with no players left though.

that was a hell of a game though, what a decision to kick for the corner brave but ultimately costly.

Cube have switched to no small 29ers for 2016 but there are probably a few 15″ 29er cube reactions around in 2015 models.

OR the specialized stumpjumper still comes in small but the cheapest one is £2200

    How small?

Specialized do the camber, epic or stumpy HT in small.

Cube do most of theirs down to small sizes

Mine broke and it wasnt replaced for a few years as we just didn’t really miss it much. Father in law gave us one recently as he moved and didn’t need it, not really had much use since we have had one back in the kitchen.

Buy a new air shaft for your pikes and make them shorter travel?

costs £30 and makes frame buying easier…

A cure for getting a bit of dirt on your hands?

I suggest a large serving of MTFU 😆

Try the volume spacers (or new air can) will help it to be more progressive as it goes through the travel.

If you are willing to spend £2300 I know of a silly spec(bos forks, deemaxes, CCDB, etc) hardly used bike for sale.

£500 2015 bike selling for £180 and doesn’t even know what it is called?

I’d say that it might possibly be stolen…

I wouldn’t based on the distance too much commuting time.

Also you would probably have a much worse paternity pay/leave entitlement for a baby due in November if you start a new job now vs staying in the old one.

No, 30mm is the bottom measurement of a 1 1/8th steerer.

Top is fine, to fit a tapered fork you would need a EC44/40 bottom cup.

I often don’t bother on the way to work etc which everyone moans at me about but I wouldn’t dream of not doing it on the mtb.

    As above…

But if not then lower rise bars?
