You can squeeze the motorbike barriers a bit wider with a car jack… So I’ve heard 😈

But don’t go too far or they snap and then the council replace them with a kissing gate and it really makes life awkward.

At least 32 on a tourer IMO. Would be fine with 24 for a normal road bike.

I have 36 on my 20 year old MTB and that has been used as a commuter, I badly hop curbs and do the occasional silly thing on it and the wheels are still almost totally straight.

I’d say that is pretty reasonable in terms of speed/grip balance already.

Summer combo for me is a specialized butcher front and a slaughter on the rear (or a ground control before the slaughter was around)

Cannondale slate, just way better than I imagined it would be at almost everything. Bit I can’t afford one so getting a specialized diverge instead as it is very nearly as good.

New Tiagra 10 speed hydraulic brakes released mid July? Will be going on my Fargo with an XT 9 speed rear mech.

Only if your frame is flat mount… Or you change the calipers

I cant or I’d have to kill you 😉

There has been a few spy pics online I believe but no official release yet.

I’d wait a few weeks if you are looking for s dropper, not 100% sure on release date but there is something coming soon that will be priced very competitively considering the pedigree of the manufacturer…

Obviously not saying anything specific but they did reduce their margin on 2016 bikes compared to previous years to price bikes more competitively.

Dealers can choose to sell what they want for what they want of course, a lot of it obviously comes down to how desperate they are to get a pricey bike out the door.

Some shops will offer people discount automatically without even asking for it…

I only gave a family member 10% off a bike today… So you’d have to be pretty special for 20%!

Any Specialized dealer will do 20% off if you ask nicely

You have to do more than ask me nicely 😉

I’ve gone for the giro rumble for this purpose, the republic looks similar just a bit more roady like.

Specialized with the zertz are good. But really a 28mm+ tyre makes a lot of difference

Will certainly look at the Nokon stuff if I find them lacking.

Put a wheel with a 38c trigger on it to see if there was enough clearance on a diverge…

    Don’t get it…

You can get a specialized carbon railed saddle that is lighter, half the money and probably more comfortable too.

I’d rather a saddle made by people who have done a lot of research into saddles rather than one made of aeroplane offcuts…

I didn’t know you could fail?

Me and my mates did get in trouble for leavit 20ft+ skid marks all over the rugby pitch.

I would get a nice P7 for that money, done a sweet custom build for a customer with everything you could want for somewhere in your budget.

Specialized SWAT cage with multi tool is great. Top cap chain tool as well.

Doesn’t really work that way. It would cost me £300 more for the 105 bike, and it would cost well over that for a 105 groupset for the cheaoer one.

But that £300 means I can get lots of other new stuff as well

Well I’ve decided to go for it. Submitted my C2W request for the diverge and some kit. Will hopefully have it sorted in the next few weeks, hopefully I like the brakes or it will end up very costly!

So he “finally” replied on the 25th after 3 emails and you only paid on the 24th?

Obviously I don’t know what he is up to but does seem to be jumping the gun a bit. I’ve sometimes been too busy at work to nip to the post office and had to wait a few days to post stuff out to people, but I try to let them know.

What size do you need? Specialized still have the AWOL in everything but small.

Rrp is £700 for the frame set and £1200 for the elite so not sure when you are getting those prices.

Leatt do a really small back protector bag, is only about £70 I think as well.

GS is medium cage and they don’t do short cage slx, so I can’t see someone recommending you go for a medium over a long cage?

But any slx should be enough for 40t really.

Ate a full dozen krispy kremes in one sitting… And then puked around half back out so not sure if it counts.

I just bought a saris bones and it is secure enough to not hit together as has a third strap for seatube so they don’t really move.

However mine covers the reg plate so not ideal…

That was my plan to just get the hyro bits and upgrade later, but they only come in flat mount, would mean swapping calipers to make them fit.

I’m a professional/full qualified bike mechanic so I hope I can cope with them.

It’s all in my head really, just don’t like cable discs but I reality I am overspending at £1200 for a bike that’s main function is to ride 7miles a day… So £1800 is stupid really. Doesn’t mean I don’t want to do it though.

It would add stack height so depends if your steerer is long enough.

I was out at about 8am last Sunday nearing the top of a local mountain and there was a strange sight running towards me.

Didn’t believe what I was seeing at first, bit yes there it was a man running in nothing but his trainers, man meat flailing about 😯

We both said “morning” and carried on our way… No need to be bothered by what someone else gets up to really, not doing any harm.

As far as I’ve seen the new tiagra is flat mount so won’t work on a post mount bike…

I’ve got the pro as well. I love it great fun and capable of much more than other hardtails I’ve owned, at my level I don’t feel like I need a fs again.
