There’s always the option of an airshot or the new specialized version of the same thing

The equivalent orbea is only £65 cheaper than the whyte, has a coil fork and they don’t list the weight (read heavy)?

    What’s your point…

Built one for a customer the other day seems decent for the money air fork is the main thing, a lot of other options don’t have that.

Did you take a picture of that damaged middle bit of the gate to B&Q to get them to match the colour?

Depends, did you cross thread the bolt? 😉

Not anything I have seen on one of those before so they will probably ask for the frame and let you know.

I had a customer who wanted to change to 1×11 from a triple but didn’t want to lose any of his gear range.

I explained that it isn’t possible to have the whole range you will lose out at one end or the other depending on chainring size bit it is close enough most people adapt to it pretty easily.

He said “can’t you just add some more cogs or something” there is definitely a market here for people who want 1x drivetrains (for reasons they don’t often understand) but don’t want to compromise range.

Most of these people also don’t want to pay eagle prices…

Fair play £26k is nearly twice what I earned in that whole year…

But now work “in the industry” so people buying lots of expensive bikes pays my wages 😉

I’ve currently got about £2.5k of MTB and £1.5k of road bike when I earn minimum wage and have 2 kids, like mboy says perks of the job I don’t have enough money for anything else

I don’t understand why the extra-longest has 5mm longer chainstays “to balance it out” when the other 3 sizes all have the same size chainstay…

Normal pump will let all the air out when you disconnect it…

This double ones will take about a year to pump up a tyre, there is a reason they make different pumps

I like Hope kit but that much money for what is basically a disposable item……….. Really??

Seems like a bargain to me, eagle is £350

    That’s over 50% cheaper 😉

Also as an amusing side note when I just googled to check how much the eagle cassete is some web sites offer it on finance it’s so expensive 😆

Adding some tokens will help, you can have it nice and supple but it will ramp up quicker so will dive less.

There is no “right size” whatever works for you. I used to get loads of pedal strikes with mine because it has a low bb so shorter cranks might help

Nudging the upper limit of my budget by a wee bit, but thanks.

As long as the right size/colour are still in stock I can sort you one for £800 🙂

You can change it to any travel you like as long as you have the right shaft.

It has three sizes on it as the same air shaft is 160 in a 26″ and 150 in a 650b as the part is the same for any size fork just makes it different travel.

Probably, rather than buy an expander I would just get a subrace 11-42 cassete and a chain. Will have fresh drivetrain for £70 ish

How much travel? Specialized do one with 35 or 65mm and it is lighter than even the carbon ks

    Van?

Then yes definitely, I’ve got the mutlispace and can fit several bikes in diagonally if the back seats are folded. Have kids seats at either side at the back so usually just fold the middle and put my bike in with the front wheel off.

A bit over budget but the diverge comp carbon is under £1900 at the moment. Carbon, bolt through axles, shimano hydro’s and much more suitable for what you want than a super-x

I wouldn’t bother with different cable disc set ups. There is the hy/Rd or v-twin options also.

A mate who crashes often (a LOT) has changed to mips and swears that he doesn’t get a headache after crashing when he would of in his previous lid.

Although the state his brain must be in needs to be taken into account 👿

The 105 level ones are only £50 more and available in post mount. So makes it almost seem worth it to go 11 speed.

I’m probably going to hang on until my tiagra is worn out and just do a full swap.

I have trp spyres on my diverge and they do work but they take 10x the power though the levers to stop me (I do weight 16 stone) compared to hydraulics.

Apart from price and maybe if you are doing some middle of nowhere touring cable discs are just hugely inferior to hydraulics, I want to slow down without feeling like I’m going to bend the bars…
