Right so I’m 25 but have 2 kids to support so can’t just do unpaid/low paid apprenticeships with no other income.

Currently I work in a bike shop which I don’t mind but I have consistently been given more work/responsibility over the last few years to the point where it isn’t really that enjoyable, which I could cope with if there was any sign of promotion or pay rise bit that seems impossible so I’m just doing twice as much work as I was a few years ago for the same money…

PP- I kind of already did that, working in crappy office jobs (slightly better paid but nothing great) got very bored so got a job in a bike shop and thought “hey this is great I don’t care I never have any money” but with the kids and ever rising bills that feeling has worn off

I wouldn’t bother either to make a tenner minus postage and PayPal fees :/

I’m not saying it is good to lie, I’m just saying unless you told me you bought it cheap then I wouldn’t assume you did.

Interesting to see what people think of this.

My main gripe isn’t someone selling them for the price they are (which is less than RRP) more the fact they state where they got them in the advert so blatantly advertising they are making decent profit. Just makes them seem arrogant imho

If they didn’t mention that I would have just assumed they purchased at a more normal price

If you are doing it yourself then just the worn ones and give the others a proper check.

If you paying someone to do it you might as well have them all done as labour won’t be much more

I always thought the same as most of you, you know a car is coming, great… But what do you do with at info?

Same as the rear lights with a camera,w hat do they help with?
so your family has footage of your death when a lorry flattens you from behind?

If it was rozzers then why don’t they use the blue and twos?

Worst driving I have ever seen was a golf gti overtaking me on a corner with a traffic island, I was doing 30 it was going at least 70+ went around me and had to serve so hard to avoid the traffic island it went onto two wheel and was inches from rolling down an embankment, somehow he got away with it…

Had a really bad ear infection as a kid, hours of excruciating pain (probably worst in my life) then pop and stuff pouring of my ear…

Took a while to get back to normal and is fine in normal circumstances but got iffy when scuba diving below 30meters …

I know someone who was lucky enough to have a nomad and a SB6c at the same time and he said the nomad was the much better climber and better on certain trails. The yeti was a bit harder to get to the top but a complete animal on the way down.

He sold the nomad and kept the yeti…

So im guessing the difference would be even more pronounced compared to a Bronson.

Yes you can use the cranks would be advisable to change the ring. As the one on there will be ramped and have pick up points (for shifting) which obviously you don’t want on a singlespeed

    Last one was this

1/5 scale with a 2 stroke engine (approximately 6hp with mods)

Bought it from eBay stripped it down completely rebuilt with a few choice upgrades, used it a few times then sold it because their aren’t many places you can use it without annoying people/being told off

I’m looking at v-twin as well.

As mentioned above you can get the tiagra levers on their own but they are £150 each (plus a pair of callipers) and only work with 4700 mechs, so v-twin seems like the most reasonable option.

Wrong way round brakes lead to the best “watch this!” Moments when someone tries to show off doing a big skid

It’s to with being able to brake (rear) whilst riding with one hand to indicate turning across a lane of traffic so the other way round if you are on the other side of the road.

I know of Americans/Canadians that swap them to ride “moto style”

I’ve also got a set of the posh ones on my diverge and they are a pain in the arse, always the wrong way up.
Find it easier just riding in normal shoes on a pair of m520s on my pub bike

Plus is worse on boggy stuff than “normal” tyres, floats instead of digs in.

I have a 650+ bike and it is great on dry trails but come winter I might looks for a 29 wheelset to fit…

Iirc there are a few little sort of cut outs on the inside of where the bearing sits, so you can get a punch against the outer race and knock them out.

I can’t remember if it is those exact bearings but definitely the case for some of them on this frame.

Be careful removing the bearings from the rocker bit.

The bit that says “this bit is carbon” or whatever is a piece of carbon basically super glued to the two bits of ally the bearings sit in.

Fine when compressed together with the frame bit if you are over zealous with removing the bearings the glue comes apart.

Most 29er wheels end up being a bit bigger in diameter than a 650+ set up, so I guess you could end up with tyre to seatube contact or something?

Maybe they just haven’t tried it so say you can’t just to cover themselves

The slate is carrying over as a 2017 model so you won’t find any reductions unless the shop hasn’t noticed this…

Should have bought a more expensive bike then 😉

Same as you really, had a go and loved it but the price is a bit much. Especially since they recalled the rims and put cheap (heavy) mavics on.

I think that realistically the 650b 41mm tyres are what makes the ride so good rather than 30mm of lefty

Not done it myself but have you ordered the tool as well? As you need that
