No idea what the general perception is but they haven’t got any worse… They are still amazing shocks

Sounds like a cable is too tight, if there is adjustment in the barrel adjuster then just slacken the cable off a bit.

It’s just not fully releasing the little lever at the bottom of the post, a bit less cable tension and it should be fine. Have you adjusted the saddle height since you picked it up?

In my experience (ridden quite a few as have a demo fleet at my disposal) travel isn’t everything, I can happily ride a 140mm travel turbo levo down things I wouldn’t on a 180mm travel haibike, just because the geometry is so much better and it feels much more capable.

Forks such as yari/pike/34 are enough you don’t want anything less though. Decent brakes are a must but XT or guides are fine with big rotors.

So basically you don’t need to have DH level stuff bit you want “enduro” type brakes/forks etc rather than anything lightweight as the weight isn’t really an issue.

One of those video’s that makes it look really cool, then you get one and realise the guy in the video was just really good and the bike doesn’t actually make you any good at riding…

Like kids toy adverts, nagged my parents for months for a Mr frosty because the advert made it look awesome when I got one it was utter crap…

Don’t think they have confirmed anything yet, but I was told early 2017 a while back.

I don’t think there is more than one yari?

Sram website only lists a RC version anyway.

RL is only on reba, revs etc as far as I know.

(I have a yari RC and a reba RL)

But with that size chainring it must spin out at about 10mph! The chainwrap is also tiny.

It is geared inside so the chainring goes round more than once for every time the cranks go round.

You lot are all over thinking this, it is just to get the chain to stop rubbing on the chain stay… Used by a few manufacturers who use the Bosch motors with tiny chainrings.

Nothing that complicated on the ebike. It is just there because the “chainring” is so small the chain wouldn’t clear the chain stay in the highest gears.

There are a lot of good things about Maura brakes but short lever throw is not one of them in my experience.

I’d get the yari, borrowing one at the moment and I can’t tell the difference between it and the pike I used to have, set it up with the right pressure and a few tokens and it feels great.

But I am an idiot who can’t ride properly….

As a long time steel hardtail advocate I agree with the above, the 3″ tyres on my fuse provide much more comfort and make it able to take rougher lines than any of my old steel hardtails.

So I think aluminium/carbon is the way to go with plus

I imagine shop will make more on labour than parts. So ordering from elsewhere and expecting fitting isn’t asking too much – when you expect to pay fairly for the fitting as the OP suggests he is used to.

Fitting a shock is going to be about £10, you think bike shops would exist if they made less than a tenner selling a £400-500 shock?

It’s more the assumption that stuff is cheaper online that gets annoying, people will buy something online to get fitted without checking what the shop would charge for the parts.

I got asked to price match wiggle on an item a few days ago, when I checked they were selling for £5 more than I was the customer just assumed it was cheaper on wiggle without even checking

I’d say £30 for a tyre that stops you smashing your face into the ground good value

You won’t find something that is cheaper but as good…

They do a 2.1 ground control sport (£20) but it isn’t anything like the control ones you had. It would have cost £60 to change them like for like, if you have spent £40 on crap tyres and then spend another £40 on another pair of crap tyres you are £20 down on just buying decent ones to start with.

Tested it out todsy, just a quick spin at cwmcarn but it appears to have improved the bike enormously. Climbing wasn’t any worse, not lifting the front like I have had on other long forked hardtails, if anything I prefer the slightly higher front end.

Descending was way better, so much more stable and I was hitting rougher lines rather than avoiding them. Obviously ive gone form a 32 to 35mm fork so some of the effects are more down to stiffness in the fork than angles, but very pleased so far. Might have to permanently borrow them…

Lyrik is out of stock with supplier in the right size, that would be my second choice.

I’ve sold many ebikes, they are generally very reliable there have been a few noisy motors (effectively the “bb” bearings) and a few batteries died, all covered under warranty but you can’t easily send an ebike or batteries due to shipping restrictions so buying local is a big bonus.

I’ve ridden a geometron and had a quick ride on someone’s pole (wahey) so know what super slack bikes are like bit obviously they are very different beasts to my short travel hard tail, will give it a go tomorrow.

If I like it I would probably change the rear tyre for a smaller one to drop the bb a bit to counteract the longer fork.

Ctech don’t set the standards they just reach you what is required by British standards etc.

My ctech course we were aiming to get them within 0.1mm…

+1 for the kc008 s, light and the perfect size for kids. Grippy but not vicious pins.

I’m glad it doesn’t work like car insurance, assessing how likely your dog is to have an accident as I definitely wouldn’t be able to afford the insurance.

My pup tries to get into some major incident of some kind at least once a week.

    Just looking into this myself.

Top of the list so far is trek Superfly 20, 8.1kg and has proper MTB sized tyres, proper bars etc (only issue with it are cranks that are a bit long)

Next is the specialized hotrock street (lighter than the normal version as has rigid forks) just needs MTB tyres.

He’s on a frog 48 at the moment, but want more of a proper mountain bike as he gets more adventurous.

Isla have caveats that say the bikes are only for “light off road use” or something like that so not brilliant if he snaps it in half and hurts himself trying a drop…

Wouldn’t risk using anything else, it’s not exactly expensive and the last thing you want to do with a reverb is jeopardise the warranty

Unless you have been diagnosed as coeliac , or actually have been tested, then it is a lifestyle choice, like many, many food allergies

How is it a choice to be allergic to something?

Don’t need a doctor to tell you when you can work it out quite easily.

My gf had stomach problems doctor said it could be a gluten/wheat allergy so she stopped eating it and the problems went away. Doctor said only way to test to find out definitively was for her to start eating it again for a while and have a test which is just pointless suffering to prove something she already knows as of she accidentally eats something with it in she soon finds out…

    In a word…. No

At 12″ I would stick with a balance bike or get a 14″ pedal bike like a frog 43
