When my oldest was about 9 months and crawling we lived in a house with those wooden stairs that are full of gaps, I thought I was being clever by blocking the stairs with a few chair so he couldn’t fall on the stairs…

He proceeded to climb up the chair and tip it over falling up the first few stairs then falling back down the stairs and smashing into a chair 😳

well I didn’t exactly weigh people when they brought me their wheels to fix 😆 but it was just something I noticed, the pro4 seems to be better

It does happen, people who are on the heavy side and/or powerful legs seem to be able to collapse the freehub bearings.

The pound has fallen, stuff is more expensive to buy from overseas so prices will go up, of course it is because of brexit, but every-time a company says they are changing prices and mentions brexit all the kippers come along and say “they are just using brexit as an excuse to scam us all out of more money”

If you want a pair of 120mm boost rebas 29/27.5″ let me know as I might be selling mine…

Graph says things are more expensive now than in sixties, shocking 🙄

not even considering things like growing/ageing population.

It is obvious that they want it privatised, just like the railways that needed to be privatised because a public sector running them is “expensive and inefficient” so we pay other countries public sectors to run them for us and take all the profits abroad and subsidise their own rail networks (can also be applied to most utilities)

alpkit gourdon has served me well, comfy and most importantly waterproof.

Have just invested in a rack and looking for some pannier bags now my commute is a bit longer though.

I’m down to 16st 7lbs (from 17st) which is great apart from the fact I lost that in a week and then only just about managed to not it put it back on this week…

It was my birthday though so that’s my excuse 😳

Ridden to work a few times this week and might have a someone to commute with as of next week who is a real inspiration to stop being so pathetic and ride my bike more! (He only has use of one arm and is still a far better rider than me…)

been eating ok most of the time and commuted for the first time today to my new job and did about 15 miles today as went the wrong way for a bit… then crashed on the way home and gave myself some nice road rash on my hip, hopefully i’ve shaved enough off to help on the friday weigh in 😆

I love them, on a hardtail i think they are a brilliant idea, more comfort and better grip on the rear as the tyre keeps in contact with the ground better.

I think once you put them on a full suspension bike the advantages become smaller.

Still not great in proper mud thought but amazing on rough rooty hard ground, but I think this is a tyre thing at the moment, i have 3.0 nics and they are pretty good want to try a more aggressive 2.8 minion or something like that. The tyres aren’t wuite there yet, same as when 29er tyres were new you couldn’t get anything other than XC tyres and gradually got better and so will plus

you need to find out what weight your rims are to to know that really.

But stans arch are a good weight/width/strength compromise
flows are a bit wider and heavier

Get some stans or dt rims and build them on your hopes.

Stem won’t really help as mentioned your weight will just be further forward, bigger frame gives you more bike in front of you, longer stem just puts you further forward meaning even less bike in front of you.

You don’t need a longer frame. They’ve certainly become fashionable in the last couple of years, but prior to that, everyone cope just fine with a “correctly” sized frame.

obviously it is just fashion, bike geometry peaked in 1990 and everything else is poitless 🙄

Warranty is from original purchase date (as a general rule) so if you get a new frame on the last day of your 5 year warranty (for example) then you have no warranty for the replacement.

I don’t get the argument about the tailgate offering shelter when getting changed etc, just get in the van!

    I can’t stand up inside

I have a berlingo and love the tailgate for shelter, even when shopping just pop it open go under with the trolley and put shopping away in the dry.

Just park forwards at the supermarket and you don’t have to worry.

Does it have any battery/turn on?
    light up when plugged in?

No trick to it, so I would just take it back to be fixed/swapped

Fabric make Spoon/Scoops. Well they do now.

there is also a model called the line which I beleive he is refering to. If so, I found it awful but I don’t like any charge/fabric saddles.

People saying “they are great apart from the numbness”are they really that great then? you can find saddles that are comfy and don’t cause nob-rot 😉

You tried a nicolai? A geometron with 180 forks is as good as it gets for this type of bike in my experience they climb much better than you woudld think.

Just get it serviced and the damaged part can be replaced. Not a huge job and will be like new rather than putting nail varnish on your shock…

I am very very fat so there is plenty to lose 😉 and I ate even more than normal for the week before I started this.

but I am not taking any other than the fornightly weight as fact as as mentioned that could just be a good day in terms of what it appears like.

Maned to get 7lbs off as of yesterday (they are probably just the ones I gained over a few days at Xmas) bit last night I went out for a meal for my birthday and had a few drinks so will have gained a bit back

    Reverb lever is £100…

£60 isn’t bad if you take it into account as the overall price I think it is much better as the cable goes the other way compared to most.

had a minor wobble today and ate some sweets that are hanging around that I have avoided the rest of this week, but today was a more physical day than usual in work so hopefully balances out!

Should have a new battery for my light delivered tomorrow as well so I can start riding to work on monday. Not weighed at very consistent times of day to be accurate so far but looks like a few pounds have gone ( I hope)

If you want lightweight then I would stay away from the XT Cassette, sram ones are lighter and have a better range. Can use shimano mech/shifter with them though if you want.

Do you need new cranks? Could just get a chainring for your 2×10

I’ve used them a bit and compared to a 150mm 32 they will a million times stiffer will be the main thing, they are the same chassis as the lyrik so are about as stiff as it gets for something with a <36mm stanchion

Damping is pretty decent even without the charger damper in the lyrik/pike and can use the tokens to tune.

They aren’t the best forks in the world but they have a lot going for them and compared to what you are already using you will be very happy i’m sure.

New email sent, Weighing in at an embarrasing 17st when I’m only 5’8″ 😳

Waiting for the mrs to wake up to look after the kids (she was working last night) so I can get the bike out and a go for a trial run of my new commute for my job starting tomorrow so I know how long it will take.

New job has changing/shower facilities and even a washing machine and dryer for dirty kit (perks of working in the bike industry) so no excuses not to ride!

I’d go for the singletracks over the humvees, They are a sort of softshell type stuff and keep me clean and dry apart from in really heavy rain.

I will be using 27.5+ hardtail which i’m hoping should be decent compromise for the overall course.

I’d have the primer(or hightower) over the yeti. Both for the way they ride and the fact that I’d prefer not to own a yeti having worked in a dealer for all three brands dealing with warranties…
