I have 140mm forks on my fuse now and it is a bit of a hooligan! Love it on roots and rocky stuff just floats over them. Ive had 3 sets of forks on it now and think it really suits bigger forks over the rebas It came with more from the stiffness point of view than travel, the only thing that lets down the spec really.

my weighed just under 28lbs standard (with pedals IIRC) looking for some 29er wheels for it now to use it for commuting and ditching the road bike as I just prefer riding it.

I have a Specialized fuse and Love it best hardtail ive ever had and never thought id say that about an alu frame!

The big tyres make it more comfortable than any steel bike ive ever had, was £2k when I got one think they are about £1400 now.

Building a new FS but keeping the fuse as dont want to be without it as it is just so much fun.

I got one for my lad at that age was a Moto one and was far to heavy and made me worry about his neck!

Just an open face and some gloves is usually enough as they rarely actually hit their heads hands, knees elbows was etc are another story

It looks like bmx style, there are a few kinds but basically just 2 bearing pressed into the frame and that spindle is part of the crank rather than the bb.

There are different spindle sizes too, so you need to measure the frame and the spindle of the cranks you want to use to make sure you get the right size

It’s just common sense isn’t it really, adjust it untill it feels good rather than everyone asking other people what they run or a generic base tune that is never going to be right for everyone

There must be almost nobody that would want/need that other than for chainrings?

The answer to that being because they don’t have to…

    Measure it?

You need the eye to eye length and stroke

Just makes it easier for people who cant read dials, instead of having to work out what half way between 60 and 70 is it just tells you 😉

    Whyte T-129?

Not single pivot but has lifetime bearing warranty so maintenance costs are low.

Or same applies for santa-cruz tallboy if you want something posher/carbon

Dont work, 4700 is a different pull ratio to all the older 10 speed stuff

That looks like a 70s roadbike fork with a disc mount welded on :/

I dont really understand the point of wanted a modern 29er but not because other people already make them, do you want a custom bike to have exactly what you want or just to have one for the sake of having something unique?

I would want EXACTLY what i wanted not taking into account what other brands make isnt that kind of the point of custom made?

You have to remember to plug the battery in when you unplug the charger 😆

Make sure you get the ones that the bikes actually have a “shelf” for the wheels.

Not the ones that just hang the bikes by the top tube, seen a few bikes badly damaged from those.

Obviously not the best reaction but some serious local news journalism going on there

“her mother is in hospital, it ruined mothers day bla bla bla” I guy was a dickhead and smashed her window, he didnt hospitalise her mother did he…

Also “There was no clearly marked cycle lane” Pretty sure I saw one…

I dont really think a sequoia would be worth it over the diverge not enough of a difference for the cost. I would have got one if it was out at the time I got the diverge but would be a big outlay for a slightly different bike.

Also changing to 105 brakes would mean new rear wheel, rear mech cassette, chain etc to go 11 speed.

Ground control sounds ideal, maybe a grid version on the rear if you need it.

I was one of the courteous slow people moving out the way, some riders were more polite than others but I wasn’t offended they were there to race and I was going very slow so didn’t mind getting out of the way.

It was a bit awkward at times as there were big groups coming through so I spent a good few minutes waiting for them to pass which wasn’t ideal with all the stop-start.

    I only managed two laps…

I was just too slow on the beach and ended up queing going into the first singletrack and then the fast boys starting catching up already!

Was fun to do and tick off the list but dont think i will be back. Either that or actually train for it next time 😆

Ive just picked up some specialized 2.6″ tyres, according to that german website I cant remember the name of they measure about 2.4-2.5″ ish on a 30mm rim so should be a nice slightly higher volume version of the 2.3″ I usually use without being crazy big as the name might suggest.

Probably fir the same reason other cars don’t when you’re behind them either.

thats just being stupid, of course it is different (assuming the roadies are not going close to the 60mph speed limit)

I wouldn’t pull over immediately but at the same time I would be aware there was someone patiently waiting behind me so would give them a chance to pass once I got to a safe place to do so.

It does happen quite a lot with rockshox, if you have a bike with a non-standard shock (specialized, trek etc) they just dont have stock of them and have to “special order” them in which takes ages.

Its a bit of grass FFS, who cares?

If he isnt going out of his way to do it then the neighbour should just suck it up, I bet the hardly leave the house and cant even see it.

Measure the internal diamter of your headtube at the top and bottom and usually need the length as well.

I read one of the bike mags the other day (mbr maybe?) There was a group test and on one page one of the bikes was criticised for a “steep 67 degrree head angle” then the very next page a bike had “great geometry with a slack 67.5 head angle” 🙄
