When you get to my neck of the woods this is worth a look and i think not far off route

I dont know when your planning to go but it can get pretty hot in summer, in 2011 I burnt my feet through my sandles (only place i did not protect with factor 15) really badly and had to stop the tour.

I have riden some of the EV routes a lot is old railway lines and really gentle grades plenty of places to camp and even some toilets and barbecue spots ready built, some places i encounterd gravel and some times boken glass from beer bottles dont use skinny road tires and all will be great its very relaxing but you can miss a lot of interesting villages etc.

I have full panniers and racks from road touring along with tent 2 man about 2.3 k vango airmat 900gm and a half descent sleeping bag so i think ill mix and match for a while using maybe the 2 front panniers on the rack with a bar roll

that should give me a starting setup without spending a fortune the ortliebs work well on the road and the weight is kept low on the bike.

Thorn or SJSC have a good variety of forks and may be well worth a look I can attest to the quality they make good stuff and more braze ons than you can shake a stick at

I mail ordered a bike that turned out to big it was sold as a 55 but the ETT is 578 I cant ride it even with a 60mm stem on it and I cant find a buyer for it here, its an expensive lesson.

I to would like to hear more about the non business side of the argument, personally I am fed up with big biz and globalisation and I would like to see a lot more in house training, companies allways want to hire a ready made candidate and never train people to fill thier needs, business has become very short term in its outlook great maybe for the bottom line today but socialy destabalizing for the community’s it operates in,

I dont live in a business I live in a country of people a society.

Very nice reply, I wish I had had such an honest approach fromr another Bike dealership based in Scotland when i felt there was a problem with the product.

I honestly don’t thing the UK will ever leave the EU whatever the result

Scenario. Paris type of attack one week before the election (destabilizing Europe is high on IS wish list) UK voters vote out this presages the break up of the EU with Greece also forced out this year over the Immigration issue .

    hmm sounds possible.

I went petrol this time as i could not afford a new diesel and the age of vehicle I would buy would mean having one with an early DPF arrangement so for the first time in years I have a petrol also Government is going to hammer diesel IMO its such a good excuse to raise revenue its already started here in France with tax increases on diesel and talk of banning diesel cars in Paris by 2020.

I agree munnqe-chic PX’s customer service is shockingly bad, but now I have it I do love the bike Brant thingy made a good one though what the longevity of it will be is any ones guess those bends in the chain stays are rather severe and some of the welds crap.

think we should stop saying positive things about it if PX are putting the price up again

My advice dont move in to you Finnish it, living in the project can be really stress full especialy for the women ime and the motivation to get away from the rents will keep you at it, so many people move in and the project grinds to a holt and then becomes the reason for divorce.

@mr35 Looks like all the silvers have gone and as the olive green is a new color not available last year i suspect its a new batch, I would be very interested in your opinion of the frame especially the welds as i had a pin hole in one of mine more like a cocktail stick hole actually. but to be honest at 150 with carbon fork its a steal.

Mid France and according to the locals wetter and warmer, watched a story on French telly that the Bordeaux vineyards are changing grape varieties because of the weather change, now that’s not scare mongering you don’t rip a vineyard out for fun.

I have to admit this is my go to bike at the moment that may change when things dry out but maybe not, it munches the miles far better than the mtb and there is always tarmac between trails,i might try some off road drops next.

Its very like a hot hatch or crossover we would all love a sportcar or seious 4×4 but most compromise somewhere.

HMM thats a difficult one mr34 You could look at it as a low cost experiment.maybe ask PX if this is the same batch or a new shipment I suspect they are still selling the original run at that price.

For me it proved I like this sort of bike very much, and it is a very nice ride and for 150 a bit of a bargain but now I know I like this sort of bike I would go steel and better quality.
