I’m conflicted on this, its a great boost for the town and local economy but from a selfish perspective its been a pain in the arse having all the tracks and trails closed off… usually mountain bike and run loops of the grounds most weeks… some great trails above the castle…can’t wait for them to reopen

Emailed BC lunchtime and got a call off a para legal an hour later. She’s emailed me the full form to fill out. Text contact with a witness who told me he had a camera in his car, this recorded me passing but not the actual incident ( at least there will be no arguments about lights etc). Funnily enough legal assistance was never a reason I thought about, joined BC as did mountain bike leader qualification and became a road commisaire…. I always used to save more than the annual cost via discounts from halfords and CRC…. will keep you posted

If you have to apparently sitting diagonally opposite each other, one front one back is safer…. I’d probably go with driver in the front 😉 also you’re supposed to keep all windows down and wear masks…. should be pleasant in December!

I must be one lucky barsteward then because I’m bouncing back really well…. resting Hr is still 5bpm higher than before and not seeing as high HR as I’d usually expect… 4hrs yesterday on road and 4hrs mtb round clwyds today… feeling great! Started new very physical job 3 weeks ago too and coping with that too…. I think I was lucky doing so much in lockdown maybe meant I was fit so recovered quickly

If you epoxy the inserts try warming cranks first and using a hair dryer to warm the epoxy to get it to flow into the gaps more easily… its what people do on snowboard repairs… was gonna do it myself on some FSA cranks but windwaves lifetime warranty was a proper one… new cranks bb and rings too!

Interesting views there guys… ive still not started omnipod due to my consultant not doing face to face meetings or training because of covid… I did get a letter saying they’d not forgotten about me and would be invited to start pump usage when appointments start again!

I wouldn’t be happy handing over 1200 without an idea of where someone lived. Be gutted if bike turned out to be stolen and couldn’t point out where you got it to the police… I’d want to see someone physically walk out the front door with it!

I saw a p20 that weighed 18lb but that was a ridiculous build… eg combination of 2 Ti bbs as one brands cups were lighter whilst using the axle from another…. literally no expense spared! My Columbus max Fuquay is 4lb 13oz so over 2kg and built up to 23/24lb heavier than my current full susser!

Same happened to my mate on the way to work as a dentist 😕 later on the chief executive of the bus company was sat having a filling! When he told him about it the CEO reviewed the footage personally and it resulted in a bollocking and re-training for the driver… must be 12 years ago

Was buying Grafton kit off them in 91 and they had been around a long time by then… bit chaotic maybe but wouldn’t worry about their integrity! Anyone local could call in and chase them up?

Dave Buchanan’s c2c route is a cracker… did it over 3 days with a bunch of mates … camped and drank a bit much every night! Particularly interesting evening in Devil’s Bridge when our visit to the pub coincided with school PTA mums meeting/session 😀

Sportsdirect ones for 26 quid are great … tough and fine for fishing etc too with kneepads fitted internally… was comparing them with a mates far more expensive pair and they looked like they were off the same production line

Some weird views on this place.. butlers eh? I’m a valley’s boy only butler I’ve known was Claude. Perhaps I’m overly safety conscious having a MBL qualification but knowing the technical requirements of the descent I have concerns for newbies on poor quality bikes… rigid bikes and cheapo imitation v brakes have their limitations over that terrain…the lack of helmet exacerbates this. We ran off the mountain some of the people we passed lower down would never have made the cut off even if the were aware of it. I’ve ridden the mountain a few times starting in 1992 on an Alpinestars pre v brakes and even with a couple of years experience it was a scary descent in places!
