Yep if you may ever want another kid dont do it…but you are a grown up and would probably have made that decision before asking this

Not a bad op, quick and painless for me, ached for a couple of days walking/jogging after 4 days and back on a (road) bike after a week…mtb soon after that…book a few days off work if poss..sitting with your feet up relaxing for 2 days post op is highly recommended.

Had a slight infection in stitches but soon cleared up….everything not working fine now

Bike shop owners are the worst culprits…spend a mint on EPOS and half the time don't record sales properly…even if they nag their staff to!

what gears you got?…my first proper road bike had a 42-21 easiest gear..that was tough round Leek and Buxton

Stick with it it's a great way to get fitter for the MTB

Ok..bike check first…demo it then get them to do somebody elses! VITAL

    attack position…demo it

controlled braking…change gear early…ie before need to…..look way further ahead than they think!

how are you covered liability wise if one seriously injures themself?…not a troll… I take newbies MTBing and they are covered by my cycling clubs insurance…not needed it but what happens if somebody crocks themself and blames you for asking them to do something which exceeds their capabilities?…clubs funding me to do SMBLA cust in case this ever happens!

Have fun, good luck but remember it's a big responsibility!

Junkyard…they are playing about with actuation ratios…diff shifters now pull diff amounts of cable so XO XTR are not compatible despite both being 9 speed!

I run 8 speed, it has yet to ruin my life.

Yep but you always sound miserable to me

I'd go 10 speed fella.. quality 9 speed will inevitably be harder to find in a couple of years…especially when 11 speed comes in

Twiglets…not that I'm addicted to marmite or anything!…don't pork pies give you indigestion…thinking the fat content of those would mean there's no way you'd use em on an enduro…nuts are all protein and too few carbs to be of use as muscle fuel?

Marmite flavour cereal bars?…plain wrong as a concept but fulfil both your requirements …I actually find my brain is telling my tastebuds they are sending it the wrong messages when I eat them!

Ok for speed, ok in the dry, fragile sidewalls, let go a bit unpredictably on wet slabs I found Aspens way better all rounder and Hi Rollers better for rougher terrain.
