True story…was sat on the front on one of our club road rides along a sheltered valley road, it had peed it down for the first hour so we were all pretty soaked, took a side road off straight into a block headwind… I piped up “at least it will soon dry us all out”…mate along side of me said ” It’s always chuffin (or similar) half full with you!!”…. its just a case of being positive and making the best of things…this year has been dire business wise due to Govt spending cuts, I’ve done all sorts of pretty low paid menial jobs to sustain our company….but don’t complain and always think there are loads of people worse off than me.
talking to a mate about em yesterday(V fit rider on full suss fuel)..loves em and got em on all his bikes, I tried his bike briefly and felt fine to me!
re ruining your spin…how often can you spin on an mtb?…fire road climbs maybe but the rest of the time I’m half in and out of the saddle…hard to spin on anything technical I reckon!
love mine, plush and no issues…launch control great, rebound lever can get knocked but its dead obvious if it does (visually) and is easy to flick back into place
I worked in insurance replacements for a few yrs, cycles, fishing and golf equipt mainly…This is well off… if they can’t replace with a suitable replacement then a cheque has to be offered at the amount claimed (if deemed accurate) if a replacement is available via Wheelies but you insist on sourcing via your LBS then M&S can pay out what wheelies would have charged them…max would be 20% less….no way wheelies can offer 40% off and stay solvent unless bike industry margins have improved a lot in the last 9yrs
Yep Andituk…think I may be tempted by those shorts…gonna put a post up for some sizing advice first tho ..just wanted to know if they were a generous cut or tight…I am a broken man!
Thats interesting…I’ve spent a lot with them and got the discount email….anyone know what the legal position is for people who weren’t offered this but claim it anyway by entering an email address?… is it fraud or not?…not a troll just genuine interest!
Ummm I’ve got one of those! and its an ace post ride hat, most beanies make my big head look daft but this looks ok and is toastie!….it was spot prize at the Dyfi though and there is no way I’d ever pay that for it! T shirts are ok too but again only at sale or TK Maxx prices!
Howies stuff seems to have gone a bit wrong lately, either Fat face styled or Rapha priced!
I got told to shave mine, used veet hair removing cream and it was a doddle, no grief on regrowth either…I’d call em and check cos you know if some nurse has to do it the razor will be blunt and it’l be tesco value shaving foam!
Non black chilli ones are scary on wet rocks… I won one at the Dyfi so didn’t mind giving it a way to a (suitably health warning-ed mate)…he still managed to crash land on a pub roof when it refused to grip on a wet rock
yep performance gains are small but they exist….every little helps! £20 notes extra is a small amount over SS for a small benefit seems fair!
Harder material bearings must be more resistant to wear from grit ingress/grease being washed out too, then factor in the fact that they can’t rust…would seem to make sense to upgrade to me!
She said: “None of these bike offences would have been determined, but for his own honesty.”……loved this bit…er hello love none of these offences would have happened if it hadn’t been for his dishonesty
Good effort fella…I did that yrs ago, agreed to do the Chester half whilst a bit bevvied up….thought I’d get round to starting to run but never did!…new trainers were a bad move though…massive blisters and walking like john wayne for 4 days!…1.45 for me, found it ok purely on cycling fitness.
peaty mud and sheep turd…bet you all had fun cleaning that off…sorry I missed it…think its strange paying 30 quid to ride somewhere I can bob to after work though, thats all.
I really rate 2.35 HR’s use em most of the year (swapping for Aspens for Meridas etc) agree they can get sketchy in mud BUT reckon most tyres behave like that on greasy clays (was drifting round last night on em)I think they are brilliant all rounders but for clay and tarmac there are better tyres out there…not Fire XCs though
Believe the organisers of these things have to make the results impossible to determine where you came by lumping all distances together? ie you know you did the full distance so you know your time (and maybe your mates if you have their numbers) but can't tell where you came overall…if you can "place" yourself it's effectively a race and this causes insurance/ land use repercussions!
Loved the office and extras…only because it's so cringeworthy…stand ups ok. BUT watched the trailer for "idiot abroad" the other night, his laughing at the fella he's sending round the world was so obviously forced and false I switched it off!
But if he doesn't want to ship out to Afghanistan for a gig that's his choice.
Mine rub on the cranks and that annoys me..they were warm during that freezing spell last winter though..I'm gonna winterise an old pair of shoes this yr…silicon sealent rubbed into the mesh panels and duct tape over that…gonna look gopping I know but should be toastier under overshoes
Bugger…Foes or Whyte fella?…unlucky happened to me once only it was a double divan bed that took off the roof rack …..bounced into the path of a car I'd just overtaken…fortunately then bounced straight onto the hard shoulder, gave me a few sleepless nights I can tell you
Sideways Tim..Sons of Glyndwr are en route to your shop right now!
RR correct new FSA cranks won't even fit into old Hope BB, unlike older ones which did.
New wtee replacements being used with FSA BB …like I said perfect for half a dozen rides…no pinch bolts just an 8mm allen bolt directly into end of axle..done up really tight too…..I'm perplexed…its like a bearings shifted inwards to give room for play (no sign of this with cups out) like I said its weird!
