I may be able to use the works van but wont be able to go too far as limited mileage and as it would be wasting ride time ( weekday evenings and weekend afternoons ) , which was part of the reason i was thinking about the road bike

K24 Oro were really good so i swapped them for R1’s But although very powerfull they were to on-off for me and they also destroyed pads (sintered) compared to the K24’s . Have now got Hope X2 and although dont have the bite of the R1’s they give me far more control so am locking my wheels a lot less , plus i can wheely better now as can control it with the back brake without my front wheel slamming into the floor .
I would just by some new EBC green pads for yours and bed them in properly then with the money you’ve saved buy some new tyres

Have a look at the Continental Mountain king MK2 , i’ve used them for a couple of rides and carn’t believe how fast they roll for the amount of grip they give , i’d say they beat the Nic’s in every way and are almost as fast as Ralph’s

i’ve been using stan’s kits for a few about 5 yrs now trouble free but have found that Conti tires need cleaning out with thinners as the release agent from the mold stops stan’s from sealing

2.25 would be better on a 5 as the 2.4 are huge

Fast tyre but try not to ride anywhere near rocks and if your used to something grippy like Highrollers don’t go around corners either
