    Spd’s on the hardtail.
    Flats on the Full suspension.
Works for me anyway, feel much more in control on the hardtail with Spds

    My mate made this..

He got the cable mounts online from some camera store, the tubing from B&Q and the pulleys from some online climbing store. Using a thick dacron (fishing line) for the line.

I used them as well, good job.

I got coloured speckals added (looks great in the sunshine), blasted & powdercoated – £65 (£60 without the speckals)

    Here are a few pics.

I put the decals one then covered the frame in helitape

    Neil, remember this… 😉

Glad you’re diggin’ the diSSent… in bone-shaker mode!

Yeah, Marshall from California posted that picture. It was from a “Super-D” race out there. I’ve pushed the Misfits a bit beyond their intended use, and they always hold strong.

On the fork, I have a 120mm Reba with 20mm Maxle on there now. Although the frame is designed around a 90mm (allowing for use of 80mm or 100mm forks). I just like the slacker head angle and longer travel of the 120. I’ve never run into problems running it that way, and it actually feels really balanced.

If you’re looking at long tech descents, I’d absolutely suggest putting at least a100mm suspension on there.

Of course, my buddy Taylor bombs some seriously technical trail on his diSSent AL with a rigid Fe fork on it… but he’s just sick in the head.

Here’s some pics of Taylor’s rigid set-up, and one of me with the 120mm Reba. Basically, anything in between is gonna work well. They’re really versatile bikes.

Hope I didn’t make your decision more complicated.

I guess if I had to recommend one fork for thrashing around and still climbing strong with the Misfit, I’d go with the RockShox Recon Gold 29er Solo Air. (100mm). Considering weight, performance, and value, it’s the best I’ve seen out there lately.

I’m lookin’ forward to those pics!

I have only been looking at 2012 150mm Revelations and was told by various people (including Loco) that Rockshox don’t do 20mm in these models (just as Loco points out above) plus I haven’t needed to look at the Fox 36 & 40 range.

Never look that high up the range, sorry! 32’s only for me.. 😉

Go 15mm. Rockshox have stopped doing 20mm for 2012, they have gone to 15mm.

    Fox also only do 15mm…

    Its the future….

I did it in 2001 & that included ice braking. All i can say is wear 2 pair of rubber gloves with warm gloves in between them.

    Enjoy.

Thanks but that’s nothing to what some guys on here do.

It was fine, that’s what they are made for. I have no idea how high it was, it’s in the freeride park at Glentress, I did land down by the tree shadow. All good tho, give it a try.

I got £400 for the frame (a 2007 frame with RP23 shock) when I sold it. If you can afford to keep it then do so.

    They rock..sold it but wish I never did. I now have a 2010 model….
