I have a Altera DL3 on my T5 (tailgate model)..Great bit of kit.

You can open the tailgate with the bikes if they have normal width bars (as in the pictures)..

If you put a bike with wide bars (780mm) on the rack slot closest to the back of the van, the rack doesn’t tilt away far enough to open the door..

I believe the DL2 doesnt tilt enough do open the door, only the DL3 model does..

I had a Thule Rideon 3 before this and the bars touched the rear window on the closest bike slot.

Go the conversion route then you can get it how you want… This was the same price as a Cali.. but better in my book!

Picture the scene, I was in the Fairmonte Hotel Casino in Monaco last year during GP week when I noticed a well known British heavyweight boxer.

As I walked past him I said “Audley, any chance of a photo?” the guy stopped in his tracks, looked and said “did you call me F*kcing Audley?” to which I replied “yes”. After I got quite an intense look as he said ” F*kc off and no you cant have a photo!”

My mate got some Enve 29er AM wheels with King hubs, very nice and he his happy with all dealings and build quality! Wheels built by “JM”. ha

not really as I always put my bike on the rack the facing same way (due to the way it was strapped on 😯 ) and it was only the brake nearest the exhaust that was affected, but now I have an exhaust at both sides…… h-mmm

Just as I though, any suggestions on what to cover the dics with to stop this happening again?

I use Admiral, all bikes (and other stuff) itemised, old for new and covered away from the home as well…. around £150 added to the premium..
