Got one of these from Superstar too, easy or what and no damage. Took me only a few minutes to remove all 8 from my trek remedy

Hope the weather improves, not happy some 300 riders will be riding some of our treasured trails like Dowies and causing damage. 👿

I hope that google map is wrong and your not taking +200 riders down Dowies! That’s hallowed turf 😉 . I hope its dry if you are, otherwise you’ll trash it.

For the newbies, I would say riding around/down the Verderers/Cannop area and then expect them to ride via Parkend,Coleford and finally onto Staunton/Redbrook is to far even on the road/cycle path.

Would suggest the newbies and regular riders have a good full day together at Cannop,it can cater for all and there’s enough to ride XC and DH.

Then the following day you could have a full session at Staunton/Way valley.
It terms of finding the DH stuff,I’m not going to give them away 😉 Just go explore

Ridden the 2011 model a lot around my patch in the FoD. Also have a 2009 Trek Remedy 9. The Alpine doesn’t climb as good, and really no better on the descents, but that’s just my view. Can’t fault the build quality and single pivot set-up for easy maintenance. If I had the choice though would probably get a Five instead. All depends on your ride preference I guess.

I’ll ask him tonight :D, depends if he’s out on our Wednesday night ride from the Tufthorn, mind you he dont like the rain. Wanna see if he’s got that new Trek Slash yet

“We prefer the Forest of Dean trails to South Wales, it’s far too rocky there” – from someone on a few thousand quid worth of fully suspended loveliness

Are the South Wales trails considered rocky?
    ——————————————————————
I live in the FoD, so assume the person who said it thinks the Verderers is the only trail, sorry motorway in the Forest, if only they really new 😉

Not saw one bit of harvesting last year that the Fc / contractors removed here in the FoD and the brushwood. With the value of wood so low they take cheapest option and leave it like bomb site. And we still get blamed for making a mess!

A tip to prolong its life which ever model, I had a i950 and now the reverb . Use a small cut piece of inner tube over the post. Helps keep lots of the crap out of the seals, especially over winter time. Worked a treat for me

Agree with psling, should wait until its officially opened to preserve lifespan.
I hope the new trail will become a success too, hopefully it will keep the masses entertained and leave all the best bits to the Foresters. 😉
