If you visited on a regular basis you would know that 20% was a regular thing and 2 for 1's were often found, if you signed up for the email you got an email every week offering discounts on something or other.

Its the like of asda and tesco etc that have been the downfall of most bookshops. Borders had some rather dodgy senior management and have been close to folding for the last 12 months, this hasn't helped there case and is the main reason they are closing. Sales across all branches are slightly under last years figures(like most retail businesses I would guess) and if cash is still coming in then where's the problem?

Staff in my local store were spot on and its sad to hear yet more peeps are on the scrap heap in time for xmas.

We bought our current house from a couple in their late 70's, 'we don't get on with the neighbours so we are moving' fair enough I thought, next door are also retired and it gives a bit of security to know that they'll always be twitching the curtains when somethings going on outside etc.
Boy do they like to twitch, I only have to come home from work at night and there out with moans about something, I parked a transit van outside recently I was using for work and they claimed it blocked their view 'what of the houses opposite? get real'

Anyway to cut one short, their daughter split from her 2nd husband and moved in with her 2 kids (bout 13 & 7). So there is now 5 in a 3 bed semi, not to bad you might think but as the teen likes his door slamming and the old guy places organ music first thing on a Sunday and the kids in general are tear aways and **** LOUD all day and night and the 7year old uses the settee and beds as a trampoline the noise is unreal. I don't need the volume on my TV sometimes I can listen to theres through the walls and just leave the picture on.
I like to go out on a Saturday night and leave Queens of the Stone age on repeat on the CD player uncomfrotably loud just to get my own back

They built a conservatory on the back of the house last year, 5x4mtrs right on the boundary line, high as Canary Wharf. Now as were on a slight slope downwards , there house is 2 feet above mine so when they are in the conservatory they can look right in to my french doors and living room. So i built a fence, and boy did they hit the roof. Spoils our view, blocks our light, we can't clean the windows etc etc. I love were I live, but I'd be lying if I said I wouldn't move again.

saw a clip on the news about rugby injuries and how things have changed in last 20 years. They went on to interview Dr J Webb, a former England full back (rugby) and he talked about scale of injuries suffered, can't see many of England football players becoming a Dr after there career ends

I can't see rates going up as quick as they came down so I would reckon a tracker is the way ahead for at least 2-3 years, look for get out costs, things like this don't often get mentioned up front only prduct fees, sols costs and valuation fees. When I left Halifax last year they wanted £175 for 'deeds dispatch fee' sending title deeds of house to another lender, £75 admin fee, and £75 quid for something else. I looked through the original paperwork from the last time I remortgaged with them and could only find £75 admin fee mentioned. They argued otherwise, I said 'I'll look on that Martin Lewis website' and they jsut went ok then £75 it is….

EDIT its worth the hassle for a garage, I couldn't live without mine now…

OH yes how did I forget that day trip to Great (sic) Yarmouth……my god it made Blackpool look like Monaco.
That main drag up to the sea front from the town centre was a picture of health the day I strolled up it. Picture the scene, 2 tonne of blubber poured into ( with no degree of skill) a catsuit (lurid pink) screeming at her mate 'wheres the facking chippy? I'm starvinnnn'

She has a brand new netbook the school gave her at the beginning of this term to replace the heavy laptops they had. The school also use Macs for art and music. Thing is she can't use the netbook at home as its school network only. The software is all windows stuff. Couldn't stretch to a mac

My lifetime tracker has no get out clause or costs, however I've had a since last August so things may have changed.
You might find that a 2 year tracker has a lower fee but higher rate or vice versa. Tracker rates have definatley gone up in the last 18 months, paid £35 from Barclays for 0.99% above base, I think the best I saw recently is about 2.50% above base ( still pretty good) its the fees that are charged for mortgages now that annoy me.

There was a story on the local news tonight that a spar shop in Workington(?) had stopped a 14year old kid from buying the sun for his dad cos it had a nude women in it???????????????????????????????

for the record, my dog goes crazy with panic for a 2 week period around now she hates the things. Have currently got 2 tv's blaring, radio 1 playings its usual crap and the Queens of the Stone Age going on this here PC. My neighbours will be round soon to complain of MY anti social noise, not that of the fireworks.

Its the local bonfires that bug me, fences and bits of trees have been going missing for weeks.

Come of the A1, head to Winlaton Mill, on to Rowlands Gill pass a few shops and turn right up the hill towards High Spen (signposted), come through a couple of bends at the top of a hill and the signs are for the wood on your left. Entrance is opposite a equestrian shop, passed a few newish houses and your in, enjoy

edit. If you've got a couple of hours to spare its worth it there are plenty of cheeky little trails all over the place and its usually fairly quiet during the week, only thing is school hols so you may get a few bodies around walking dogs etc.

Its my birthday today. It was crap due to work. Then on the upside, I had to take my daughter with me all day as her school announced it was a training day (they told us on Wednesday!)

So for lunch, we went to a little cafe in Yarm and all the woes of work disappeared as I listened to my 12 year old put the world to rights, as kids do….beautiful to listen to & suprisingly well thought out. She reckons her and some friends could sort this country's problems in no time at all 'we've got it all sussed out Dad, we really have!' :-) .
