There was plenty of dissent at the time, and some of it very vocal. Bit of selective memory in operation based upon the mainstream press coverage I suspect

The political spin of the day wouldnt let that get out at the time, we will probably get more details/truth (ish) in 30 years time about what the rest of the cabinet thought about Iraq and Blair, but by then we will have had other wars to further the political needs of those in power and it will be forgotten by the majority

I went camping in the Lakes a couple of years back with Tanni Grey-Thompson and her family, right good laugh.
Mrs is related to a former FA cup winning manager
The late MiL had a cousin who starred in Prisoner Cell Block H.

To answer the OP, I’d say we are all famous as were all well known in the world of cycling bull$h77ing :D

As part of a week away with as much riding as possible in it I planned a trip to Dalbeatie with a couple of stops along the way. Went to kielder with 2 bikes on the roof rack, did the newest red and met the Mrs and Jnr back at the car after there ride, got packed up and went off to Newcastleton where we were stopping for the night, the plan to ride there in the morning and head for 2 days in Wigwams at Dalbeatie.
Got to The Grapes in Newcastleton to find I’d left the only bike rack keys in the lock on leaving Kielder Castle carpark.

If anybody ever finds them emails in profile……

Having been immobile for the last 6 weeks, Ive spent quite a bit of time looking at what we spend money on around the house. Have changed utility supplier, knocked on the head some tosh channels from Virgin media and got a new deal on a phone which has saved me a few quid.
Because I’ve not been able to walk or go out anywhere I realised how much a nght out costs when I checked my bank balance, not been drinking in the house (ok, bottle of wine over friday sat night). No smokers here anyway.
I wouldnt say a broken ankle is good for you, but I’ve saved a few quid and had a bit of a spring clean on the finances.
Just as well cos no doubt Mr Osborne will be gunning for me in an hours time.

You’ll always take a hit on any 2nd hand sale, guess it depends if you can take a bigger hit cos of the bikes niche-ness

Any way was looking through others and 3rd April rding at GT loads and loads of white stuff, was great fun but very cold.

Just noticed this thread, she’s always had a bit of a crazy idea about advertising, years ago I’m sure she had a tank or a old jet fighter parked up advertising her cars. Not sure if she still does, but she lived about half a mile from me, second hand cars sales in dodgy advert scam…nothing new here?

Some cracking tunes on this thread, I’ve spent more time on you tube than I ever have this last couple of days. Thanks to all for some truely dusty moments.

At the time Wires by Athlete had me reaching for hankies as we went through same with my girl when she was born.
Lots of the above, particulary nimrod I was at the November ceremonies at the Cenotaph in ’96 and although we had spent about 4 weeks marching about and practicing for it all and listening to the music, it didnt really hit me until I was stood there in the rain that Sunday morning in Whitehall.

And the best Slade song ever how does it feel, always for some reason gets me at the back of the throat.

EDIT: I heard this song on 6music months The Unthanks, the testimony of patience kershaw. Based on a true tale of life in the mines for women.

Some of the comments at the bottom of the yahoo page are strange?

He works for a childrens charity and saves children from possible attack. Yet ‘the only course of action we can consider is dismissal’???? brilliant kids charity they are, why couldnt they just have used PR spin to raise funds for the charity rather than cover themselves in brown stuff?

    Your wife does, ask her?

    My mates wife

OK, clone phone is hardly clarity but thats what my 15yr old keeps going on about and I know them by no other name.

They are as DW & DB has pointed out a copy of a phone currently on the market, and manufactured in China. They use cheaper components to do similar jobs to iphones, samsungs and other makes. Just wondering if anybody has had one work longer than the end of the warranty or month (whatever comes first!)
    Just curious.

Now the source for this is Wiki, so take it as you find, but according to Wiki Vicky Pryce is currently in a relationship with Dennis McShane.
The former Lab MP (Rotherham 94-2012) who resigned last year after getting caught fiddling his expenses…………….

That should add another 6 months to her sentence at the court of STW

Decided to do Ae forest trails after finishing work at 3.30pm one early Feb day, no map, never been before, lots of snow on the ground, half the trail closed for damage/felling.

Needless to say got lost-ish in the dark, lots of things froze on the bike and had to hobby horse most of the flat forest roads. Tried Pi$$ing on the front mech to get the ice and snow off. I was actually picking out log piles to sleep in at one stage.
The joy and excitement I felt on seeing streets lights miles in the distance gave me hope and I pushed on down the forest roads.
Got back to car at 8pm to find temp gauge on car at -5 so what it was at the top of the mountain???

Got back to my digs in Dumfries and lay in the bath for an hour to find my legs and toes come back to life slowly.

Lesson: start early, take map, dont be thick again.

EDIT: Have been thinking back to that and remember trying to run with the bike and singing beatles and rollingstones songs to keep me going as cramp screamed into my thighs and calf muscles 8O

And all of the above, week might not be long enough…or come back again for another week later in the year to finish off Drac’s extensive list.

My company is a major suuplier of ‘products’ to the NHS yet we also tender to run services (and win many), last year we were asked by DoH to supply more services. This year will see the first contract awarded to start 2014 in Telehealth, ringing customers (aka patients) at home to do ‘visits’ without the need to come to the Dr’s surgery. Guess what? its an American idea and its worked over there for years (apparently) and its coming here soon despite the opposition by some groups within the NHS.

Think of the NHS as your high street all those friendly butchers and bakers you used to visit for your groceries until the supermarkets decided they would have a slice of that action cos they could make a profit and close down the little guy with Government blessing. The staff all leave the fruit and veg shop on the corner and got a job stacking shelves at the new shiny ever so slightly off the high street superstore along with the man from the bakers and the girl from the papershop.

I pleased they are both being found guilty and I hope the CPS get the money back Huhne wasted in trying to get the case thrown out.
The fact that this goes back to 2003 shows us that people like them will lie for as long as they can to protect themselves, I not so sure the MP would go that far for his constituents.

As for her, she’s a proper pillock for thinking she would be found not guilty, I would agree with Ernies take on her. Do they think because they have so much power and wealth that they will get off??

Whatever, I hope now they get decent sentences, sadly they will probably serve most of it on licence back home free to make money out of interviews or after dinner wafflebolloxs.
