Sorry for slight hijack – can anyone recommend a good internet guide to learn such things. I have acquired a DSLR with the intended of aim of learning such knobs, buttons and twiddly bits.

…the authorities seem a little happier to respond to complaints about their vehicles at the moment.

I have had more scares in a couple of days than I have had in a year (more aware of danger or something in the air as others have said on other threads, who knows). I have had a bus and a dustbin lorry complete their overtakes on me whilst their back wheel has been level with, both times forcing me to take evasive action otherwise risk being hit by the back end. The bus driver said I should be ‘cycling slower and take notice of the the warning stickers on the back of the bus telling me to stay away’ – useful when he is overtaking me!

Complaints made yesterday (to TFL and Council), and responses with further details wanted back already, whether it is just lip service I don’t. Report incidents though whilst they appear to be taking an interest.

TFL’s FORS stickers on the back of lorries and busses telling the cyclist to stay back?

Imagine cyclists with stickers on their backs attempting to tell other traffic users to behave. That wouldn’t get anyone’s backs up 🙂

I do realise these stickers on the backs of lorries/vans/buses are for a cyclist’s safety so not knocking them.

The behavior of many cyclists/HGV Drivers/Car Drivers/Bus drivers/motorcyclists in London is shocking

His point is so easily derailed and subverted because of who he is, how he behaves and his delivery style.

Hmmm, his behaviour is no worse than some of the politians in this country. Who else is everyone going to agree to listen to? No one is my guess.

I have a very lazy eye (opposite I suppose to being cross-eyed). I know no different so difficult to say how it affects me other than I look like Columbo, especially when tired or drunk. When riding I am convinced that when I have a drop on the right my lazy eye is looking down it because I get the fear, doesn’t happen with a drop on the left? I have only experienced double vision after an operation on the lazy eye.

Talk to a pro. I felt like you, I also felt that I couldn’t talk to anyone about some of the stuff in my life. It took a while and I am still at it. It just helped me understand why I may be feeling the way I did. I still get very very low but it’s much easier to deal with now. Seems to have helped in other unexpected areas too, my riding has certainly improved this year 🙂

I cycle up there every day…it’s 4 lanes wide with a 20mph limit. All lanes, all vehicles and bikes generally moving at the same speed she could have just been in the next one along from the lorry (normally where I am to be honest as I don’t turn left). Whilst common sense may dictate to stay away from big lorries it has no right to simply change lanes whilst someone else was using it.

I had assumed (before reading this thread) it was another cyclist going up the inside of a lorry. Scary accident.

yep, Robdob’s Kilauea does it for me too. I have an Explosif of that vintage (95) which is now looking rather sad in comparison.
