i suffered a blood clot on the brain and quite a long recovery having fallen off without a helmet. I survived having being given 33% chance of doing so and a much higher chance of severe difficulties afterwards (much like Micheal Watson the boxer). I sustained no other life threatening injuries.

With a helmet the worst I have done is shaken myself up a bit and bled from my knees and elbows.

i've had Brew Dog's Tokyo at 18%. A tasty drop. I will have to try a Penguin at some point.

beat me to it geetee. I love NCFOM but it isn't quite as good as Fargo. I do love the big wide shots of not a lot though, particularly all the trucks at night.

Like a lot of major towns in Belgium, Netherlands & Denmark?

aye, where they are designed well….a bit like Stevenage if you ever have the pleasure. Cycle Paths in Stevenage are absolutely fantastic but in most other places over here they are crap.

    Massive Attack's Blue Lines

never really got Massive Attack strangely but would have to put this as a contender, Tricky's Maxinquay. Don't listen to it that much nowadays but everytime I do it blows me away.

    Others include

Ed Rush & Optical – Wormhole
    Nirvana – Nevermind
    Leftfield – Leftism
    The Genius – Liquid Swords

…it's a difficult one really – lots of others too.

I'm sure some new stuff could go in there also but will it stand up against time, how old does an album have to be before it gets into these things?

stick with what you have and get a +20mm adapter and shimano disc. You may only need to do the front as well.

140mm u-turn revs on mine – they never need to be wound in though, even when climbing 🙂

Lucas off of here had a stag similar to this. He organised it even though I was best man….but anyway, we bikers went a few days early to a very nice bunkhouse in Dolgellau. Spent a few days biking with the highlight being Cader Idris. Then when non-cyclists came we planned to go rafting nearby (this didn't work out as the river flooded and was apparently to dangerous – typically it was the one thing I did plan). The pubs in Dolgellau were very accomodating too.

doesn't seem to work with either 0 or "#". It's not recognising a non zero after any zeros in the sequence. So 00011100020 which would become 11100020 then becomes 11100000.

I possibly should have put the whole reasoning behind the original query up but it would have been a bugger to type out and as it was a slight tweak I thought taking the bit that needed tweaking was sensible. Sorry if that was not the case.

Anyway, for now Stoner I'll be using the original solution….which is still much better than VBA 🙂

    almost

but as you say, it is doing something weird

    whippersnapper

hmmmm, interesting. I think I have to keep it as text because that was just a middle stage. Once zeros stripped away each character then needs separating and putting in an individual cell. I just gave the Value method a try and all looked promising however it insists on representing it in a scientic format. Even if you change the format to number when you come to split the code up it takes 555000etc etc as 5.55E+ etc etc. I think it needs to remain as text. I almost had to kick myself 😉

JimmyB almost except it was only leading zeros that I had to strip away. Any zeros within or after non-zeros I had to keep

    but easy isnt always simple

too right, it's just taking me this long to figure out exactly what you code did, I am impressed.

here is the final function if anyone needs to strip leading zeros off a stupidly long binary code

    =RIGHT(A8,(LEN(A8)+1-(FIND(LEFT(SUBSTITUTE(A8, 0, ""), 1), A8, 1))))

excel can be versatile although VBA is moreso, it's just I have to revise each time I want to use it as I don't use it often enough.

    Ta again

    cheers everyone – Stoner's crakced it….again 😀

feenster, yes the first instance of a number that is not 1 (well, 0 actually)

stoner, i'd be after the first non-zero character, so the bold here for example 00000232322200200230200203020032300011111000000

I was hoping to avoid VB as the spreadsheet is pretty much done and dusted, it just need this slight tweak

    0000000000000000000000000000000001111111111111111110000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

that is an example of the string I was looking at. The function I was using stripped away the 0s at the front by looking for the first 1. This was all fine until someone started adding 2s and 3s etc to the strings. I was hoping to change the code to find the first instance that is not a zero.

this place is falling to bits. Watching the forum decend into playground antics is fair enough albeit very sad, but STW staff falling to our level??? Personal and public comments about people who support/ed you, nice work, very professional. Not doing yourselves any favours chaps.

….good with spanners sometimes. It's the little fiddly bits I am not so good at. I also don't have a socket set so would need to purchase that also.

FFS Marx has nothing to do with it and continuing it cos people have asked you to stop makes us all look like a bunch of cliquey sad w*****s. I used to have wear my STW t-shirt quite proudly but nowadays I don't want to be associated with it. Really, get off Ernie's back, it was a joke went wrong which he understandably got annoyed with and perhaps said things he didn't necessarily mean. Or are you trying to out him like you did with Lansera who even though had quite opposing views to my own I never understood why he got such a hard time as soon as he posted anything.

I believe we emit around 15 to 25Gt (IIRC) of CO2 a year

…and the rest. Defra data for 2006 states UK emitted about 500Gt of CO2.

I don't know what to believe…convincing arguments come from both camps, whether it be sun spots, solar flares or fossil fuel burning. In the last couple of years global temperatures have decreased. However, none of this is important.

What is important is that we all do our bit to act responsibly. So what if climate change isn't caused by us, we now know how to go about industry and our domestic lives in an environmentally better way. Surely adopting these new technologies can only be a good thing and if it does make a difference to the climate then there's a bonus.

crap, I hope that doesn't mean that all bog-eyed looneys will be associated with the BNP, I'll be in trouble.

Eyes aside, I am quite looking foward to it, should be quite lively. No need to censor it as most people are aware of their inherent nastyness.

this happened to my girlfriend. She took a year and a half of it. She quit two months ago and although she hasn't yet found another job she is much happier. Still, trying to get a job at the moment looks tough.
