Burners may not have been the best bikes in the world but I bet a lot of us here leanrned the joys (and pains) of cycling on one of them. I had a Mag Burner. It was ace.

Nobody considered ‘Computers’ to be some magical omnipotent all powerful higher conciousness

whilst I agree with you I am sure there are many who do believe this. Might be wrong though.

Very interesting program. Got me thinking about the quantitative revolution in geography of the 60’s. Was wondering if Rand’s thinking somehow influenced this also. Any clever people know? Or you going to make me do my own research.

I will keep my eyes peeled north of the river.

you were a braver person than me leaving a bike like that alone in town.

walleater, that looks pretty special. How’s the back wheel driven? There’s all sorts going on in there but I am meant to be working so can’t look properly.

No it isn’t, as I said, its only like this in London.

it’s true, but it’s also one of the reasons I really like London (and I’m a simple country bumbkin, I planned to be a here a year and am still here 6 years down the line). People of all sorts living by one anothher and more importantly seemingly gettig a long with one another too. Other places should give it a try.

I have the same Time peadals and struggled to unclip also, even with the cleats on the easy unclip setting. I find Shimano much easier but my knees prefer the Times. I had 661 shoes too and these were lethal in the Times, they were far too flexible. Changed too Specialized something-or-others with a nice stiff sole which helped enormously. Now on flats and can’t really see me going back to clips on the mountain bike.

I wasn’t going to bother with this given the reviews above but then your Black Angels reference sold it to me…..quite a hard act to follow though mind.

I like it. Need to put it on loud through some proper speakers though rather than listening to it through a laptop (I am hoping this will bring out the grinding bass and lose-yourself-psychedelic moments that drives the Black Angels along)

    Get yourself a good accountant

at what point does hiring an accountant make financial sense? Is there a threshold or is it down to personal circumstances? Let’s say for example, a sole trader earning about 30k with minimal outgoings and expenses – could an accountant save you more than what they charge you?

    p.s. sorry if that’s a hi-jack

I went to my local bike shop, it caused my head to ache…..pity my local is an Evans. Polystyrene is a good idea, ta.

Fasthaggis, if you were to find them that would be grand but I wouldn’t want you left in the same position should you move away from the Flight Deck.

I enjoy tinkering as much as riding, it’s all part of it isn’t it? Admittedly I do struggle to get out as much as my brain says I should. But when I do it’s mostly great.

Did a fantastic weekend up in the Yorkshire Dales and Lakes recently. Up and down Swaledale, a big loop around Skiddaw and Borrowdale all offer some superb rides (and they are just the ones I have done) if you can get there in a day.

I managed a few weeks at the beginning of the year and have fallen back into it. Yesterday stopped again. But a new addiction you say TSY? Could be fun, I’d best choose wisely.

ok, I went ahead and removed the Flight Deck which has left some gaping holes in my levers although they are covered by the hoods and some electrical tape. Does anyone know if you can get blanking plates to cover these holes, I have tried google and it’s not helping on this one. Cheers.

thanks for the video Verses, what am I doing wrong?

….it was an official compilation, not like the many bootleg Nirvana compilations. Still, some of them have some amazing tracks as well, D7 being one of them (i’d link that too if I had any skills)

I’m never really sure why Incesticide is overlooked. My favourite Nirvana album by far. This is just fantastic

Good to see Swervedriver mentioned above. A closely related band Skyscraper are also too often overlooked

Hopefully the game is taking this into account. But it is the representation that most people are familiar with.

I like your idea of the first game though. Pity you can’t doodle in a forum reply, may have got some maps then.

    whippersnapper

…but as a game it’s good. They had to choose a representation of some sort.

So what we need is a 3D version with a spinning globe. A plug in for Google Earth perhaps.

Anyone who understands maps would immediately point out the fundamental flaw in that game

I am intrigued. Having an understanding of maps I am not entirely sure why the game itself is flawed. I have thoroughly enjoyed the last half an hour or so playing it.

    Best score so far 6236.

hence the ‘as such’. I wouldn’t want to lose money on it and I would like to pay off a mortgage (in fact I’d like never to have a mortgage). And yes, the moon on a golden stick would also be nice. But, primarily I would like a home.

stoner hit the nail on the head their with the emotive issue. Personally I just want a house to live in, not as an investment as such.

Anyway, we are living in a service economy and toys et al are providing that service. Rather you than me.

    whippersnapper

You don’t buy a house because other people have one, you buy a house because it’s a sound investment and your ability to invest is rapidly diminishing

buying one house, yes I agree with that. Moving up the property ladder I have no problem with.

Buying a whole load of houses doesn’t sit easily with me though. I am not saying you were wrong for doing it. I say the mechanisms that allowed for it to happen (particularly tax breaks etc) were wrong.

You don’t understand, we had no choice

yes you did. Keeping up with the Jones is not compulsory.

Interesting figures in your previous post Toys. Is there a type of housing break down? I’d say 1 in 5 houses being BTL at it’s peak is a pretty high share. Look at this by type of housing and you may well see that this share is higher for those properties first time buyers generally wish to buy (it might not that’s why I ask).

big_scot_nanny, for the first time my gmail search function has come in useful…I don’t have a screenshot but here’s the text

This is a max wicked sick BMX. It’s a Reliance Boomerang and it’s done heaps of maximum extreme stunts. I have mostly done stunts on this bike since forever. Once I did a boom gnarly stunt trick on it and a girl got pregnant just by watching my extremeness to the maxxxx. Some details about sickmax BMX: Comes with everything you see including: TOPS AS SUSPENSION REAR FORKS!! 2 x wheels 1 x seat I will even thrown my sick BMXing name for FREE – Wicked Styx. Has minor surface rust on handlebars and front forks (easily removed). More rust on rear forks (as shown in pics). Tyres hold air but are pretty old. Basically, it’s an old BMX, but it’s radness is still 100% in tact. Tricks I have done on this BMX: Endos – 234. Sick Wheelies – 687. Skids – 143,000. Bunny Hops – 2 (Bunny Hops are gay and my brother dared me to do them, which I did because I’m Rad to the power of Sick). Flipouts – 28. Basically if you buy this bike you will instantly become a member to every club that was ever invented, worldwide, because you will be awesome. Pick up from Richmond in Melbourne. Throw your hands in the air like you just don’t mind.

Q: Dudu , thats the sickest description ive read to date . Had me and my family in stitches. If you reconsider postage for this bike im happy to pay you for your time involved as i collect stingray bikes . Been after a chrome boomerang for a while.Let me know if your interested as i would love to max out the skid record. Cheers man . 30-Jan-09
A: Hello Radster. I suppose I could skid down to the postie and see what it would cost to post. I don’t know where you live, but I might just try guessing. is it 64 McDonald Drive in Brisbane?
Q: dude, does this bike come with contraception because i all ready have 3 kids.this is the best description i have ever read i think you should go into business writing for ebay!!thanks 4 the entertainment,i’m still pissing my self 30-Jan-09
A: Thanks Sick Guy. It doesn’t come with contraception, but I will include a photo of me doing a stunt if you like. It’s pretty blurry, but it’s still a wicked rad stunt. Let me know.
Q: How long are the skids that this bike can do? 29-Jan-09
A: Dear Mad Dog. The skids odometer shows 128,992 metres, but i think it might have gone round the clock. I once did a skid that went for two weeks.
