i saw its older brother (similar to below) in croyde earlier this week. from an aesthetic point of view, the older one is better (although i’m quite into 80s/early 90s VWs)

I like the 80’s vans too, silly prices nowadays though. I really would like one of their american cousins though, there’s one up the road from me, oh how I drool

that is really rather nice. In fact, could I have it.

Dare I ask how much that stem was?

Both are fascinating…tough choice. I think the Natural History museum maybe more impressive, especially the opening hall. The Science museum I find you have to do more reading to be fully engaged.

However you are on to a winner with both.

wo, put on the spot there 😀

ummmm….now then (excuses at the ready). I was in fact speaking to my girlfriend about this yesterday. We decided when we do stop we are going to have to separate for a week or two otherwise we will try and kill each other (been there, done that). Got to prepare for that. Maybe next we…..ye…year, definitely year.

However, I give full support to the mustachioed quitters from the sidelines for now….and will join you all soon

…don’t worry binners, I’ll start another thread sometime in the new year 🙂

strangely I have the opposite problem to those above. At work I am very strict about not smoking. As soon as I get home is where it all happens.

I had an old Lava Dome same vintage as User-Removed’s bike up there ^^. These are my favourite year Kona’s

…if your Garmin has a micro sd card then give the OSM stuff a go. TalkyToaster is quite good. Download the appropriate file and then put the GMAPSUPP.img file into the Garmin folder on your sd card and job should be a good’un.

Otherwise Garmin street mapping is called City Navigator and the OS style stuff is called TOPO I think.

there is a load of open source mapping in the link below, some of it is mtb specific as well

    OSM maps for Garmin

If you had Garmin mapping then you’ll either need to buy it or ‘acquire it’ elsewhere

being what Pyro is above I use quite a few. Excel always amazes me at what it can do…I am always learning (and then forgetting) a new function. It’s one piece of Microsoft kit that I think does a fantastic job.

i want to see this even if it is just because the poster seems to be the same as Repo Man. And if it’s as good then it’s money well spent.

we have one, grandparents offloaded it to us when they decided they got to an age they didn’t want to be playing with hot oil.

They are ace. Yes, it fills the kitchen with smell for a bit but home made chips are great. Home made scotch eggs are even better.

    good dad

my dad and grandad taught me the way with knives about that age. I knew to be careful with them because I found out I pass out at the sight of my own blood (not with a knife, with a light bulb!)

Anyway, just out of interest since this has been a bit of an STW love-in, is there anyone here who thinks Sturmey has been a bad dad?

the Annual School Census notes a pupil’s ethnicity – out of the 100 or so ethnic groups there is a group called ‘white irish traveller’ and another is ‘roma gypsy’. So based on this data alone, yes.

definitely ugly….I am trying to see beauty in it. But then I cam across this, how many bikes could you get in there? As well as living in it. Definitely beauty in this beast.

I am not sure a ‘tube style’ map is suitable for London bike routes. It’s pretty difficult to get lost on the tube but trying to follow a London bike route on the other hand getting lost seems to be part of the experience. Surely effort into some good clear signage would be of more benefit.

Don’t get me wrong, the map looks good. But will it help in the back streets of London?

I’m liking the one just after 1.05 as well, proper big. As for the double front flip attempt how do these ‘crazy kids’ not appear to hurt themselves? As soon as I normally take off on anything I begin to think pain.

I’d have liked to have seen Voeckler help Cadel out a bit whilst trying to keep hold of his jersey…

I was hoping Tommy would go a bit too. He tried at the end, don’t think he could do much more. Cadel did a brilliant job.

    Go Tommy Go
