took this (and fiddled with at home) just before spending my voucher as a little memory in case it should disappear from the high street. The man behind the till was quite assured it won’t.

I know what you mean about the white mud emac65 but I think wl and mechmonkey explain it best, new challenges and a novelty. You must have seen all the photos doing the rounds too, it’s beautiful out there. Important to dress warm though.

PP, is that the original stem, looks very short for a ’93 vintage? I’d quite like one that short, it might mean I’d use my ’95 Explosif more.

Not sure that’s an afternoon well spent but as everyone else seems to use flickr I thought I’d best give it a go. With the help of this and this I have managed to link picasa to flickr. I thought flickr was meant to be better, not so sure yet…

damn it, only saw this thread yesterday and was off to spend my Christmas vouchers this morning, ahh

sad, the HMV on Oxford Street has always been a stop on a shopping trip, having said that the last few years have always come out empty handed.

Total miles 2131.31
commuting 1001.54
road 646.46
mud fun 513.31

cost of new mountain bike £13.57 per mile !!!

Hope to double the offroad stuff this year at least.

it doesn’t sound too bad, higher pitched than my decent speakers but I am guessing that is because the old one doesn’t have any housing yet.

I don’t want to tempt fate but so far I have been pretty lucky (another vote for Marathon Plus)

Generally I just need to tension the chain (singlespeed). I can’t imagine this is related but I have had a rear wheel coming loose incident 😉 Popped in too nearest bike shop to ask for a spanner.

Other than that one puncture and replacement of brake pads which I see to myself. Oh, and my latest bodged mudguard tends to come loose.

I’m over in Kentish Town. I never really found a group to ride with although I havent looked very hard I have to admit. I’ve been lacking motivation recently so could be up for a spin sometime soonish if you fancy it.

It’s a brave motorist who pursues a cyclist along the pavement.

Its happened before… Cyclist knocked drivers wing-mirror, driver mounts kerb and kills him

scary stuff. I had a very similar incident to that above and the OP’s film, a maroon Mercedes mounted kerb to block my way (I was still in road) after a car-tapping incident. He then threatened to slit my throat. I decided this was a good time to leave, unfortunately in such haste I didn’t get enough details to report the incident.
