Mountain bikes are muddy and can scratch things easily. Jags are shiny. That in itself would be a no for me.

Why? There is already a generation who were conned into going to university getting into debt to find there were no jobs, why push more into it?

I’m guessing TINAS meant that universities should be free/subsidised like they used to be. A job may not be guaranteed but a more educated population can not be a bad thing.

I wear various Carhartt trousers (more because I know they fit me quite well) and they seem reasonably hardy. They are not smart smart though.

Because of this link Gofasterstripes posted a week or so a go I have just bought a pi to stream music to an old amp. Now just waiting for the evenings to get darker to make a start.

Windjammer just jammed through the letter box. It’ll do for dry cold commutes. Agree about the brambles…I’ll keep it well away from them.

don’t like the breakfast dj at all, or Edith at the weekends. Otherwise I am generally happy.

I need at least 30 mins in bed with a cup of tea first. That time is now.

Haven’t clicked link. Do want to be part of mcmoonter’s pic…preferably knowing whilst sitting in that building that one of those bikes belonged to me. Inpired maybe, probably more dreaming. No interest in a fat bike of my own. Do own 29er. And a beard.

Although having just read DIYs post I am tempted to give the pi idea a go…as my grandpa did actually give me his old stereo 🙂 he took the tuner out of the amp and put an oscillator in instead, I feel I should continue his work.

Mooly I am wanting exactly the same thing as you by the sounds of it, although don’t want to spend quite as much. I came across a gadget called an Arctic Cooling Wireless Relay which sounded like it would do the job, I can’t find them to buy though, other than on Amazon at a ridiculous price. Richer sounds seem to have a few separates options. Last night I started reading about the Sonos Connect, I might try it.

But it doesn’t indicate who owes who. There seems to be a lot of debt about though.

There is a lot of stuff to know about in this world. It is impossible to know about it all. Some of you get a head start like CountZero above by having exposure (through family) to it at an early age. Others get taught it at school, some people just enjoy reading, etc etc.

I am pretty ignorant to history I must admit. I only recently learnt that west Berlin was a small island in east germany, by visiting Berlin. I have heard of the holocaust though.

Being a geographer I was expecting something very different. However I am glad I have seen that ta. Loved the last bit with robot xray images.

Do it. I got my first full susser last year and that came in the big wheeled variety (and hora I am younger than 40 although arguably been in mid-life crisis since my teens). It was a tallboy Lt and it really is a lot of fun, my descending is certainly faster and it isn’t slow up either. It does mean I have an abandoned rather nice hardtail at the moment that I am not sure what to do with.

mines very much like that one ^ apart from it has black Revelations, a Flite saddle, a layback Thomson post and a front brake. Lovely bikes, it doesn’t get used as much as it should though. I think I like even more nowadays with only the one gear – it’s like a big BMX.

…had a little trip up Helvellyn this time last week for a spot of Alpine practice. It was hot hot hot…and steep and fun.

Looks like I need M8 x 22, although the TFT site mention 3/8″ and SC in the same sentence and offer m8x22 and m8x22 3/8″ so looks like a phone call may be needed.

thanks Zippy – by spacers I mean the bits between the shock and the frame.

eh up BigJim – yep, that very tool is on my shopping list. I’ll look into the heavy duty stuff which is in Zippy’s link. Trying to be prepared….one month to go 🙂

I had a very worn lower jockey wheel that caused a very slight clicking and skipping. I scavenged a less worn jockey wheel from an old mech and it did indeed sort the problem. Maybe worth a go – any spare jockey wheels you can experiment with?
