Forget it mate, after six months of paying for everything she’d come accustomed to the wag lifestyle.

Not sure how you can ill afford a day off work but you can add £1200 for an extra day in Rome.
Don’t think my last 3 night trip to Rome cost £500 all in for two . Lol

Being a tight northerner I don’t think I’d put up with a bird that didn’t pay her way or say thank you and appreciate my kindness..

interesting reading, i thought a fatty bike would be horrible for uphills on local terrain, once i get a bigger garage and the prices have come down i’m tempted..

and they always put a smile on my face in the shop, once aw one at llandegla, the bloke seemed happy and his mate was insisting he’d done enough and they swap

I don’t see many on my local trails the Peak District, West Yorkshire, can’t imagine they are great on serious climbs
In fact I’ve never seen one..

I’d love one but having to climb on a average 500-800 metres a ride I can’t warrant one

I use a montane featherlite marathon jacket, similiar sized bag to an apple or spare inner tube,
Used it in 5 degrees with just a base layer and it kept the wind at bay

Rose bikes or bikediscount.de had them around the £500 mark in their last sale a few months back, Merlin was the only uk site offering a lowish price

I’ve found tree branches placed on the trails around mirfield woods at waist height, quite annoying as its a legal right of way, I can understand logs on the floor, after all it’s a wood and horses and dog walkers use them so they really don’t want mtb’ers hurtling around corners too fast..

I’ve found if you pass walkers slowly on footpaths it’s very rare they object, many people do not understand rights of way and so being polite helps, a lot of old roads in West Yorkshire moorlands and countryside are only footpaths (ie no horses or bikes), but on google maps they appear to be old Cart trails with road in the name..

Out of interest were was the riding is it well used by bikes,

I can recommend the anker 2nd gen Astro e1 offers a couple of charges to ip6, may be a little big heavy for a jersey,
You could probably get a smaller one if you only need one charge

    £12 on amazon

Prawny clearly isn’t a northerner who rides year round in shorts lol
My local trails have been perfect on a few occasions so far this year, but then it’s rained continuously for 3 days after each day of perfection

I must admit I’ve added a bell to my lefty 29er which I use on greenways, cycletracks were angry dog walkers and families congregate, my mate who rides a road bike on the same track has been told off by said angry dog walker for riding his bike.. Lol he asked her which part of cycletrack did she not understand

I bought my last lot on Amazon £10 for 10, although I usually buy just enough lifeline co2 on wiggle to get free postage, although the rate s now £20

Don’t see the issue in buying selling second hand as long as description is accurate, the op has found it isn’t so need to communicate with the seller or make a claim via eBay/PayPal.

Personally I wouldn’t buy a helmet second hand or even a new one if the box was badly dented..
But a life jacket no problem , I’d do as the op has done, test it first

i find ryanair can get cheaer over times, also if you and friends are banging in the dates and cookies are tracking from different locations prices go up.

cheapest i find tend to be easyjet when they first release or ryanair when no one has booked and they drop the price a few months before to shift..

if you cant fly across europe for £60 return then your being ripped off..

my last flight back from zadar manchester was £65 for two with a bag, late july 2014

most people i have dealt with have been fine, sold a roof rack he was more than happy to get a lower price and i took cash with no fees.

the end of the day all sale items must display a postcode so in theory toe rags could find your address no problem anyway.

I hope this is lesson learnt op. One bike is never enough, get yourself a new bike
And use the excuse, that’s my winter bike, full sus bike, Hardtail bike, fat bike etc etc

Two bikes allow for a ride when one bike just isn’t right

I got a garmin vivoactive and it’s been great £99 on Amazon Boxing Day,

I use it for walking, swimming as waterproof, and mtb’ing the GPS is superb,
It’s very simple to use and only a few clicks to start an activity, 90% of the time it syncs to the garmin connect app no problem, but now and again I have to close the app and turn off/on the Bluetooth and it usually syncs , the garmin app syncs to strava after initial setup no problem at all

Charge lasts ages, 5-8 days no problem although heavy usage of GPS 10 hours and it.ll need a recharge.
Alerts are OK messages and regular iPhone alerts come through and so do phone calls,

The new version launched recently and includes a HR monitor on the back for the wrist, was £177 promo last week, but back to £209, vivoactive sell pretty cheap second hand on eBay

It’s so simple to use and I know if I keep it charged if I plan 3-4 hour rides the next day, it’s a 3 button press to set it going and I can forget about it until I get home, whereas mobiles using GPS heavily drain the battery..which can be a real inconvenience later in the day

Had it years ago from stress, you just feel tired and run down, stock up on ibroprofen, paracetamol.

I remember a good friends wedding, I felt like I was touching an electric fence all day, throwing some involuntary shapes on the dance floor
unless it’s on the face/around the eye, nothing too much to worry about, I just got on with it, my shoulder looks like I’ve been branded

It is not contagious, maybe the comment above wasn’t actually shingles and actually chicken pox hence the transfer, but per comments probably best not to take your shirt off at work..

Avoid the alcohol on your trip, as you tolerance may well be weakened, and keep the fluid intake up, if your lucky it.ll only last a week or two

antihistamine MTFU cream it is then, them brambles are slippery feckers, got one around my inner elbow, which took an age to tear off,
hope the scratch will have gone before i give blood next week.

mtf cream seems to work well, i road 12km home after popping my shoulder a few years ago, and managed to walk to a mates car after ripping an overnight stay and surgical clean on a knee last winter.

width is a key determiner, i had the rubber strips and they were way too wide.
eventually on one wheel i cut it into just the valve and a nice rectangle of rubber strip around it.

pretty sure you’ll still need to tape over the spoke holes either way.

thanks for all the great advice guys, had a feeling it would be leaking into the tube of the rim and then out the valve hole, but i’d checked the tape and not spotted any tears or rips, but the tape does seem quite near some spoke holes, so maybe as others have said go back to the gorilla tape.

    lol, horse pulling wheelies,
but as a fairly new horse owner, through the wife. Some horses are petrified of bikes, so just slow down a little, pe prepared to stop be courteous and forget that strava time..

    remember horses dont have brakes,

Gary M the thought was not to show how fast a walker I am, it was to allow a finish to the walk with the bulk of the group, therefore catching up and joining the team for the last X miles. The tough bit.

I’m glad to report everyone has been training hard with multiple practise runs so in theory like you say , I shouldn’t stress and just see what happens on the day.. It is a far bigger group than expected and so it will inevitably split.

    Flipflop, mushrooms, crawl, hop :P

Ps. The practise was 5-6km an hour, not marathon distance lol

sounds alright, depends on your circumstances etc.
interest rates aint going nowhere fast, so should be fine.
i’m on a tracker at 2% which i’m more than happy with, took out in sept 2009, and i dont plan to fix anytime soon.

ps. have a look on moneysaving expert or a comparison site like that, thats the only way to see if you got a good deal, as the next poster may only have 1.5% fix but that wont be avaialble at the current time, so is irrelevent.

My favourite ever was in Dubrovnik a few years ago their was a Dutch couple and and English couple with the bloke that sounded like Boycie from of&old, he tried to one up on everything the Dutch couple said
Anyway after us laughing for a good half hour,
    they started talking about kids
The Dutch man said his son was a DJ, boycie says disc jockey not much talent playing other people’s music
The response well he does write his own music and plays it in his dj sets,
Boycie ‘ well it can’t be much of a living’

Dutch man well he seems to do well
Boycie, so he’s plays the local clubs not much talent in that

The Dutch man ‘oh no he flys around the world first class, paid for our trip out to Croatia, has houses in Miami and Ibiza and pulls in crowds of 50,000 plus’

Well boycie at that point was lost for words

I can only assume I was sat with my back to dj Tiestos mum and dad

Muppetwrangler it will definately be a challenge for me, had a feeing this would dig a hole and be a favourite for trolls, some great commentary though, I can see both sides of the coin and that is what I hoped to gain from this post

If it was vice versa and I said I was worried I was too slow and unfit I wonder what the comments would have said

Njee20 yeah it’ll probably go that way,

Onzadog that could work, I do want to support the group, hence the idea to catch them up, and complete the last third with them. Thanks

Hi Rachel I’m not sure which part you’ve read that says I don’t want to go.
I’m looking forward to the challenge, I’ve done a few practise walks and I feel ready for the big day,
The other weekend I walked the same track/distance on my own in 4 hours as our group of 7 took 7 1/2 hours, hence my concerns..

I’m used to walking, biking with people I know with similar abilities in far smaller groups, my concerns are its a fairly large group 15+ and I do not want any ill will..
The group will likely splinter anyway, but is it worth holding back and catching the guys up, I know of the group 3 or 4 will be in exact the same feelings..
Just curious how others have dealt with it, organised it..
Whatever happens I’m sure we.ll all have a beer at the end

describe well and post as many pictures as possible.

it annoys me how i set to no returns, but defalts back to returns are accepted

what locks, security did you have on them. where they professsionals with cutting tools etc.

I’ve got a ubar, chained to an old immovable workbench and planning to put a ground anchor in, and have removed cutting tools etc from the garage out the way.

I’m on my third bike in three year, cube acid, which got me back into mtb’ing after along time off, then got a lefty 29er last summer which is a great ride, recently got a 27.5″ full sus canyon nerve and it is so much more fun on trails, singletrack, and it actually climbs really well, but for trail and more downhill sections it really comes alive.
Plus it’s far more forgiving, been a few times lately were I’ve hit a badline and I’m glad I’m not on my Hardtail as would have thrown me off
Maybe worth considering a full sus.. If your gonna have a stable of Bikes you may as well have some variety .
Ps my mate has got the whyte 905 27.5″ wheel, great bikes and rides really nice and is light,
So much so that another mate is now considering the T130 works full sus
