back to the gold old days, hopefully site traffic will pick up.

item views and watchers have been really low in recent years, maybe a peak around covid and then down due to inflation etc.

i’d say im on vinted more time than i spend on ebay

the only downside to weldtite gun is the head cracked on the thread of the bottle. so i’ve got 1/2 a tube of grease and would need to buy another tube to work the gun

rimpact make riding far smoother, got them in all my bikes, including gravel.

a few grams of foam isnt gonna make much difference to a ebike weight, i cant tell on a 9-10kg gravel bike

that last pinch flat/ding i had was on some brand new dt swiss alu rims, i’d received the rimpact the day before but decided i didnt have the time to fit them and sods law was looking at my garmin went over a water bar and properly dinged them. :0( last time i had to dig out a tube

i tend to bunny hop (badly) water bars, easier on rims

/\ do you not need to consider riding style,  ability, as well as tyre PSI and whether using inserts..

I’ve never managed to destroy a regular Maxxis carcass at ardrock in 6-7 years, that said i now use rimpact, and have never troubled the podium.. :0)

as Simon above says yorkshire is a big place.

an assegai seems to work well upfront with a dhr rear for me pennines holmfirth/marsden/ hebden and peaks.

i was up cutgate a week back in miserable weather, very wet and windy, felt like winter, grip was perfect.

its next to useless in mud, hence a couple of stages at AE forest and last weekend at Bollington enduro was hardwork riding late in the day after 500 riders had been through,

looking at tyre choice of the podium riders magic mary’s are popular.

my next enduro think i’ll take a spare front wheel with a Shorty or Mary ready to change over

depends how you ride, size of bike / steepness speed of trails.

i prefer the feel of hope e4 4pots, than shimano XT/slx i’ve had in the past, nothing wrong with those in action. but replacing the levers under warrnaty can be a pain. my xt m8000 slx m675 must have been replaced 3 or 4 times

had magura on a more XC orientated bike 4 pot front 2 rear, work very well, had a lever warrantied within 2 years (5 year warranty)

now have hope on gravel bike so nice to run the same pads on most of my bikes than stocking multiple sizes and brands

yeah i’ve only ever seen the nigerian one in london tescos; i’m not a regular tesco shopper up north so never seen one.

just remembered at the start of summer crate_escape had 30 packs for £30 but it was already past its BBD and i’d struggle to drink them in smmer, so i didnt bother,

my garmin tells me alcohol is bad for recharging my body battery, one or two beers, bed at 10pm and recharge doesnt start till well after midnight on the graph..

but then again sporting activities depletes body battery so you cant win, not sure i’d be healthy if i got 9 hours sleep a night and sat watching TV all day

with labour discusing new taxes next month, the 25% tax free lump sum at 57 (upto £268k), may no longer be a thing, hopefully it will still exist or be tapered downwards, as i cant imagine many regular folk hit the £1.08m pension pot..

@mattyfez, a SIPP is useful if you are a tax payer, especially a high rate tax payer as for every £1k you put in, the government top it up £250 (and then you can reclaim another £250 (to lower your high rate tax paid)

so essentially you are paying £750 for a £1250 investment, but the money is locked away until you are 57 (55 before Apr2028)

I use a combination of bank savings 3.5-4% for ready cash (earning a max £500 HighRate / £1k basic rate allowance before having to pay tax.), the remainder goes into my SIPP (to reduce tax) / S&S Isa (upto £20k pa)

bank interest would come off your personal allowance, although seems to be a £5k limit,

This means you can earn up to £5,000 in interest before paying tax. This is reduced for every £1 you earn over your personal allowance of £12,570 per year (2024/25).’

if you are wanting to move a cash isa to a S&S isa, do the official route, you cannot withdraw the money, it needs to be setup as a transfer between the financial insititutions
