Sparky AKA Fuentez Flash in his racing days. 9 (nearly 10)

Pictured below in his “something is about to get chased pose”

They will walk long ish distances, sparky doesn’t have a problem with 8 mile walks but like humans they need working upto it.

No chance as a riding dog, I doubt I’d get to the end of the drive before he’d have me in the nearest hedge or wall.

What I don’t quite understand is looting whilst rioting. At what point do you stop standing up for what you believe in and decide life would be better with a free radio alarm clock?

Al jazeera report riots staring in Leeds. 100+ gathered.

Where abouts in the country are you? Might help people suggest good local companies. We’ve had very positive experiences with the company we use.

Thanks guys, anything I need to look out for? It’s the rear wheel that needs replacing, it looks like the cassette is a screw on type. If I buy a wheel with the standard shimano freehub system is it going to cause me any problems?

I feel like a newbie again, give me nice standard 26″ stuff anyday.

Thats why I rate Nordic summer, until you’ve been to Sweden you don’t know what midges and mozzies really are. I’ve not found a country as bad yet.

In way of comparison. My 08 stumpy fsr expert (£1800 list) came with X0 and X9 mech and shifters, fox rlc forks, xt cranks, Juicy ultimate brakes. It would probably cost £3k to get that spec now.

Scrub that it is £3k now. All be it with nicer hubs and slightly more travel.

Remeha Broag, they’ve been making condensing boilers for 30 years. Not been in the domestic market for long, mainly make commercial boilers.

I’ve not read a bad review about them. second walk for us with it was 8 miles and 1500ft of climb, no problem.

Cost about £90 new or £45-60 on ebay

I think it depends on your boiler. Most of the big manufacturers offer an add on kit for their own products.

We’ve gone for a remeha broag boiler, this has the WC built in, you just need to add the external temp sensor which costs £15.

It was 2 wires for the temp sensor and 2 wires for the starship enterprise style controller.

To heat your home economically and still have it warm take a look at Weather compensators. We’ve had one fitted with our new fully modulating boiler. Dare I say it, awesome bit of kit. There is an outside temp sensor that measure outside air temp and constantly adjust the flow temp of your heating to maintain a constant temp in the house. It learns how quickly your house warms & cools so it knows when to gently start heating again. On a scale of 0-5 in boiler power (5 is the highest) ours rarely gets above 2. On a standard boiler/room stat setup you more or less modulate between 0-1 (1 being full pelt)

Its cut our gas usage in half from our old boiler.

This is a useful site for everything stove related. This link lists the various woods and their merits.

    http://www.stovesonline.co.uk/woodburning_chart.html

If you can get hold of some ash logs they can be burnt green due to the very low moisture content (I picked up 2 loads yesterday that have only been split a few days ago after being sat in a pile for a few month. The moisture content is 30%) Less than 20% is the recommended. Fortunately I won’t need these for a few months yet but they would burn ok with a smokeless fuel bed.

This will sound a bit mad but is the clock set?

We had a power cut and the oven stopped working at the same time(clock flashing didn’t bother me) without the clock being set the oven simply made a click every time you tried to turn it on. A bit like it was tripping a fuse inside.

This was on a Neff double oven but it maybe the same principle?

The biggest problem going through a wall etc is that can’t have a horizontal run of more than 6″ in the whole system. Going through the wall diagonally elminates the problem but means a much bigger hole to start with.

We also don’t have a chimney (as above) so had the flue run straight up through the loft floor and will box it in once the loft is converted into a bedroom. It’s also a good way af getting some additional heat in to the room above.

depending on how easy the install might be? it could be just as cost effective to have a HETAS install? I seem to remember seeing a figure of £300 for a building regs check. We were quoted between £350-£450 for a basic install.

Ours ended up costing £1k due to us wanting the flue to run out the top, as below
