Spot1978 have you checked to see if the car is under 3 years old. If so call out vw assistance and you maybe able to get the battery replaced foc as part of a technical bulletin. It won’t cost you anything to try if the car is under 3 years old.

Worth taking the battery off the car and charging it possibly.

We have a 2017 Audi A6, probably very similar electronics to yours, Christmas eve the battery went flat and it reported all kinds of failures, entertainment system, electric boot, emission control.

It’s worth checking with VW. We called out audi assist who replaced the battery FOC as there was a technical bulletin issued. Start stop batteries are expensive, around £200 and need coding to your car to be fully effective.

Take a look at the tilers forum. Manual cutters are only really suited to ceramic tiles. For porcelain tiles you need diamond blades. Rubi make a good one for a 4” grinder.

Watching with interest, tempted by the V6/WTB combo or would I be better with a pair of Chosen/Alex rim combo from the likes or Merlin?

coniston park coppice is worth a look. Short walk to the lakeside from the site on a gravel road. We can get our 16ft canoe down on a trolley. nice little village a 15-20 minute walk away. Biking at Grizedale.

Forgot to add it’s a Caravan Club site so similar rules.

Completely shocked. Feel slightly numb having read about the passing of one of the nicest guys I’ve had the pleasure of meeting and sharing a few rides out with.

Chris was one of a kind, always smiling, cracking a joke, even at 10PM when he’d done a full days work and squeezed us in for a last minute carpet fitting. The banter and top conversation never stopped.

Our thoughts and sincere condolences go out to the family. If Chris’s wife is reading this please let me know if we can help in anyway. I’m just outside of Skipton so not far from you if you need anything.

Done. You can do this. You and your family have been through so much, one more tough climb to make.

Firstly you need to buy some of this – http://www.robertdyas.co.uk/nippon-ant-killer-powder-150g?istCompanyId=bf3344d9-83f5-4abd-b69a-da131f7567d1&istItemId=xliwpxawt&istBid=tzxt&gclid=CNn87ZCZt8YCFSUOwwodR4IBmQ

Find the entrance to the nest. On a cool day early morning or late evening is better. You can tip these bottles up and squeeze them which sprays the powder. Get as much in and around the entrance as you can. The wasps will then carry the powder into the nest. After a couple of days you should see them dying off.

Once they have died off if the nest isn’t causing you a problem then leave it as wasps will never try to use an old nest.

Have a look at bedec msp paint. http://www.bedec.co.uk/

I would avoid dark colours if possible. There are problems with upvc expansion and contraction made worse the darker the colour.

Sad day indeed. The old shop by the library had a great feel to it and some nice stock. New location just didn’t work.

Full agreement the Skipton Chevin cycles holds zero appeal. Went in once won’t be going back.

Its a bit like All terrains new showroom. Wetherby just seems like an odd choice when you’ve got Harrogate and Leeds so close. Hope it works for them.

As always thanks for all the info guys. Think I need to give this some serious thought.

Munrobiker thanks for the kind offer. I’ll let you know if I go down the Hornby route. And yes this might be for me…. but the boy does get to take the wrapping paper off.

Spent a week canoeing around the lakes of Sweden stopping on a different island each night. We used DD hammocks with midge net, air mat underneath and a sleeping bag. Also used a 3x3M Tarp over the top.

Top tip is ditch the rope that comes with the hammock and get some light duty cargo straps. They won’t stretch the same as rope and you won’t have the problems of very tight knots to undo in the morning. Something like these – http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2-X-CAM-BUCKLE-TIE-DOWN-CARGO-LASH-STRAPS-2-5M-X-25MM-Weather-Resistant-strap-/131123457206?pt=UK_Car_Accessories_Touring_Travel&hash=item1e87912cb6

First night was interesting after I’d tightened the straps too tight. Got in after too much fireside whiskey rotated 720 degrees before being deposited face down on the floor.

Looks like they’re trying to get his world cup single to number one (I didn’t even know he’d done one to be fair)

If you have proof of purchase its got to be worth a call to specialized. They may help under the frames lifetime warranty.

BigG ours is the 140bhp engine. Its the wife’s car so didn’t want her to have too much power :D

Having had several VAG PD engines over the years the new CR engines are light years ahead in refinement and power delivery. They’ve pretty much eliminated the spikey torque that the pd engine was know for.

Mpg is very good too. 60mpg + has been easily acheivable right from the first tank of fuel.

Offset pedals in the 3 series are odd. I did over 1,000km in a left hand drive rental one in Denmark a couple of months ago and didn’t notice the problem. The car is probably designed for the biggest market i.e. left hand drive and adapted for the right hand drive market.

You’ll love the A4 we picked up our 14 plate in April. Same spec as yours but in ibis white. We tried the 3 series but couldn’t live with the stupid off centre pedals.

Forgot to say gisburn is local to me. Well 30 minutes drive. Ashby De La Zouch might be a bit far at three hours away. Cheers for the suggestion though.

Any other suggestions within an hour or so of Skipton for any good “off road” rides that would be suitable with a kids trailer? Might be better to start a new thread.

We’ve got one of these http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_categoryId_165476_productId_724057_langId_-1?cm_mmc=Google+PLA-_-Accessories-_-Child+Bike+Seats+&+Trailers-_-155401&istCompanyId=b8708c57-7a02-4cf6-b2c0-dc36b54a327e&istItemId=lwqtlq&istBid=tzxq&_$$ja=cgid:8475776884|tsid:35522|cid:166296844|lid:47419179008|nw:g|crid:33910835764|rnd:3888971898143489898|dvc:c|adp:1o1|bku:1&gclid=CNGh1KDivL0CFeXLtAodzTgAQQ

Works well and folds almost flat. You can also buy an extra kit that turns it into a stroller for £13.

They’ve been going about 20 years or so. Nice showroom in the grounds of Salts mill. Always a good range of bikes. They also have a big warehouse so stock levels should be good.

I have bought from them in the past and will continue to use them.

I bought one of these a couple of months ago. Really happy with it. Very nicely put together. Good level of kit. Everyone that tried it is amazed how quick it feels. Oh and a bit of a bargain at 600 notes.

Troutie meritt and fryers sell vermiculite sheets which can be cut to size.

You can also get a bit more life out of them by bonding them back together with some fire cement.
