There used to be a jump spot just off the canal between Chasewater and Brownhills. Leave Chasewater on the canal and it’s on your left. If you get to the Anglesey Warf bridge you’ve gone too far. Not sure what it’s like because I ride XC and mostly only get ‘air’ measured in inches

Great course and apart from some minor changes the course was much the same

Given where the Chase is located, near to the massive conurbations of the Midlands it’s not suprising that there are all types, other than ‘serious’ MTB’s riding the built trails there. It’s not possible to Police who uses the trails and it’s inevitable that after watching some mountain bike film on TV or picking up a copy of MBR or MBUK in Asda that some people will think they can ‘do’ mountain biking on their £99 bike.
I’ve accepted that there are times that I won’t consider riding the Monkey and avoid it, given the traffic that the trails have I think they hold up well.
I’m more disturbed by the number of people on expensive bikes who wear body armour and have all the gear but clearly no skill whatsoever. WTF is that about?

Ive used them for years for trail riding and racing and never had a problem. They save a lot of rolling weight nd you will notice a difference in how quick your wheels will pick up speed.

I’ve now gone tubeless, lets hope its as successful

We went ot Morzine when my other half was a newbe MTB’er and she coped fine riding a hard tail with 80mm of bounce up front.

We used a combination of the Bikefax guide and the trail maps you can buy from the tourist information to find our way round and never struggled.

Ok, I set mine up last week – non ust racing ralphs on American Classic wheels and one has now gone ‘soft’ so there maybe some air leakage.

You’d be more than welcome to join our club, Born to Bike. We are based in the Lichfield/Cannock area but have members nationwide. Where are you based? I’ll mail you later when I can get to a PC as I’m posting off my phone at the moment.

I rode it for the first time, yep it’s muddy in places but come on it is November! What are people expecting? Get out there and MTFU.

As I was there late in the day only saw 2 other riders and for the most part had the trail to myself.
