Its all progressive after a while it feels quite natural though and you can just focus on suffering

Riding in ERG mode took a bit of getting used to. You just leave the gears alone and keep your cadence the same, you feel the resistance come on almost instantly like the transition from flat road to hill.

Trainer road also monitors your accuracy and gives you a % score for specific intervals, in ERG mode your hitting 99% all the time so its very specific.

You can control the power yourself, no need for any other software other than the wahoo app. On the highest resistance I can hardly move the cranks, the range of power/resistance is very impressive.

To be honest there’s so much you can do with it.

I’ve had one for about 6 months after selling on my Tacx Imagic and am very impressed with it.

I use mine with trainer road on a laptop, the only downside is that if you don’t have blue tooth inbuilt on you have to by a specific dongle (a normal one wont work)or use ANT+

The feel of the riding is very smooth and probably the closest to riding on the road I’ve experienced on a trainer. The whole unit is very stable (and very heavy)

The power readings are accurate and closely track what’s registered on my Vectors.

I manly use trainer road at the moment with Sufferfest Video’s loaded in. After establishing your FTP the trainer road/Kicker/Sufferfest combination will adjust the resistance on the kicker in ERG mode so your working at very specific levels.

With regard to fitting your wheel its a standard QR and cassette set up so would be possible if not a little awkward

There were also thefts from cars, someone close to us (I was with one of the guys who had his bike nicked) had his wallet taken from his car and I was also told someone had lights and other items taken from their cars. Not sure if the cars were locked, but still a sad state of affairs

I’ve not ridden (or raced) for two years due to having two kids. During that time I’ve eaten junk and drunk loads. This has left me bloated, sluggish and feeling like crap.

Decided to do the Juice detox just to try ‘reset’ myself and reduce the bloat etc.

So far its working for me, I feel significantly better and gives me a good base to build from.

Maybe not for everyone but its helped me break a poor diet cycle

Ditch the booze, refined sugar, processed foods and starchy carbs such as bread, pasta and potato’s, use things like sweet potatoes and wholegrain rice. Reduce your portion size and make sure your eating good quality protein. Drink 2 litres of water a day.

As a starting point try a juice detox diet, I’m doing a 7 day one at the minute and have lost a significant amount of weight, I’ll be switching back to a ‘normal’ diet after the 7 days are up.

You also need to make sure your exercising but also include some weight bearing exercise things like bootcamp or circuits are great if your not a gym lover like me

I’ve used Training Peaks for a number of years and have several downloaded plans that I use which have been quite good and have provided good results.

Training Peaks is good if your using a power meter and/or HR monitor (as I am) although it can all get a bit complex especially when analysing.

You need to consider if you want or need the level of information and analysis that Training Peaks offers if you do its ace.

Yep done it. it’s true the pave is brutal but you dont go to ride Roubaix if you think its going to be anything but brutal

There’s nothing that will prepare you for riding the pave. My advice is go for the 140km version there are good stretches of road between many of the sectors where you can get some recovery from the pounding your taking.

if you pay attention to your training, tyre choice and pressure and postion on the bike you’ll be OK but you will still take a beating it’s that kind of event.

Doing Flanders this year, cannot wait

Good to meet you Cozz, really nice bike (and people too!). You turned a few heads when you rode off, with a couple of people pointing at your tyres. We never talk bike related costs in front of the fairer sex and for the record I ride road, CX and XC MTB.

Went out today got overtook 3 times. I was using a powertap so was riding with a defined power range. The riders who overtook me had been riding hard to catch me and were goosed (by their admission) when they came along side me. Was I bothered? Nope I’ll be much faster whn the time comes, you don’t always have to ride hard
