Last year was very bus -prepping the old house to be sold, packing, moving, getting the new house into some sort of order, full time work with odd hours, two kids under six…. So, of late I’ve not done much riding. I’m feeling an urge to get back on ASAP just as soon as this monsoon weather disappears. I’ve moved around the corner froma couple of riding mates so things will be getting easier come the spring.

I’d prefer to watch smooth, big airs with some stylist tricks thrown in than mctwist after mctwist after mctwist like one of the Japanese guys did.

We have started shopping there after spending fortunes in sainsburys for year. We get the staples and then top,it up,with a few buts from Marks at the weekend.
For some Toro yesterday, the musili is very good, their Pringles are the originals, stakers, and half the price! The cup soups isn’t bad, the small fruit is great for the kids lunch boxes and 89p for a big bag.
Need to try the gin 🙂

Folding and knotting empty crisp packets really used to wind a friend of mine up, so much so he used to get up and move away when I was doing it.

Going to scout camp and eating meat mush from the river. We had put four days worth of burgers and sausages in a plastic bag then put it in the river too stay cool. The bag had a hole so the meat turned into a pink blob which we ate for the next few days. Can’t imagine what river life had had a nibble previous! Wide games were fun, breaking into the rugby club, stealing whiskey, drinking it at the firing range/jump spot and riding through fire! Scouts was great.

Cheers, it’s a 4s. I just don’t want to be up until 2am switching it on and off like I did the night before I went away on holiday!

A factory shut in town and the headline was very nearly “Jobs blow for town”. The editor at the time was a not very world-wise Christian.

I think the new Merc ad with the chickens is very good. Wouldn’t buy one though (both car and chuck)

Have some lie ins and lazy days, a nice pootle on the bike and some more lie ins. It ain’t that bad but lie ins are a valued commodity once the kids arrive.

My forks are 2001, my frame is 2005. Its a small, i ride medium…I’d love a new bike but £££ dictates that im stuck with what I have. It’s though…

I’ve had it about ten years now afetr seeing too many bands and playing the drums, sometimes it’s unbearable but its never kept me awake. I had a hearing test a while ago and was told by the specialist I had the hearing of a 60 year old. (I was 39 at the time).
Pubs are a nightmare if there music on, I really struggle to hear people speaking if there’s any background noise, music or not. I was at a kidsarty at the weekend and the dj was a frustrated raver and whacked it up loads despite being told to turn it down! I came away like I was underwater….
I wish, but, hey ho, I saw some great bands!

“The conflict has, for many, been seen through the fictional prism of dramas such as Oh! What a Lovely War, The Monocled Mutineer and Blackadder as a misbegotten shambles – a series of catastrophic mistakes perpetrated by an out-of-touch elite”.

Ironic that the article finishes with Gove being quoted about people being led by ‘an out of touch elite’

Thinking about it, the old chap who sold us the house looks really good for 80+ years!

A humbling story when hardship these days in no 3G coverage. Very brave men. Clarkson adds a good bit of drama and respect to his war stuff. Well done.
