Cork is the second largest natural harbour in the world (don’t know which is the largest)

Are you sure? I thought that was Mahon in Menorca (Sydney being the largest)

What about Scapa Flow? 140sq miles

I think you need to buy a shellfish licence, I know a guy who had a Scallop one & he paid around £4000 for it from another guy.
BTW Crayfish are like hens teeth, I don’t know how you are going to target crayfish, as you are not in control of what enters your creels. I reckon I seen 500lobsters for every crayfish I have seen.

I’ve been with Commercial Vehicle direct, for a year & a bit now, an accident last year saw the premium more than double, but I was too lazy to shop about. I’m not really impressed by them.

I can’t understand why you guys who are complaining about not being able to park outside your houses, didn’t you foresee the problem before you bought it. Last time I bought a house, I looked at some houses & immediately dismissed them because of the parking set up. Ok you may be cheaper for this set up, but don’t complain about it, you know what you are letting yourselves in for when you bought the place.

Go with a recommendation every time.

Ask yourself, do you want the cheapest or the best job? It’s a bit like wanting a BMW but you only want to pay for a Fiat.

The Pole maybe fine, but you don’t actually know, what if his work is shoddy, do you then ask the first guy to come & fix it?
He would probably then charge you more or tell you to **** off.

Just pay the extra £60 & have peace of mind.

You will actually have to pay to get rid of them, I took some to the recycling two years back & they would not take them, they told me to take them to a tyre depot who will charge you, not much though. They have to pay to have them taken away, never noticed the charge on your bill when you get new ones fitted?
Try giving them to a farmer, they use them to cover the polythene sheets on their silage pits.

I said exactly what I wanted it for, I know little about the subject so I’m just trying to find out facts to see what I need to spend & if they fit my needs.

BTW I take it you have just found out your wife is getting it elsewhere.

If 24mm was wide enough? how much difference would there be between say the Panasonic Lumix DMC-LX3 which has a 25-105 (35mm equivalent) & an entry level DSLR with a 18-55mm lens which is 27mm? (35mm equivalent) in term of getting better pictures. I have been hunting all day & would like image stabilizing, live view, etc. but I know it all increase the cost, what in you guys opinions are good features & which are not all that necessary. Basically whats the best value for money? I have looked at Canon 1000D & 450D, Olympus 420SE, Sony A200, Nikon D90, or do you know better.
BTW Thanks so far for the help

    Thanks for those.
I think that is too distorted for my purposes though, so at what focal length/lens size does the distortion effect become minimal?

My current Panasonic has a 35-105mm equivalent lens. I see the fx3 has a 24mm equivalent lens. I have hunted the net to find comparison pictures from the same vantage point & could only find one & it was a landscape, anyone know of a site I could look at to see what the difference between the 24mm & 35mm equivalence would be, preferably of a room in a confined space(BTW I’m not an estate agent). Or can anyone take & post such a pic?

We should have not taken him back from Rio, we are now all paying for his treatment, I reckon that is why he wanted to come back, if he had stayed there he would have croaked ages ago.

CaptainMainwaring is spot on, I also live in Northen Scotland & think the minuses far outweigh the pluses, there are only a few times they would actually help, the roads get cleared.
You all had snow the other week yes, but how many have snow now or will see any more this year, it lasted a week this year up here, in recent years it has only lay en for about 2 days, even then the main roads are clear well before it dissappears. The main problem lies usually lies with others not you, you could have a 4×4 with chains on but if the traffic in front of you is stopped, your still going nowhere, also it’s a good excuse for a day off.
