transit on factory fitted lpg. 3 seats in front. bulkhead behind seats, great to drive, warm comfy, high driving position, room in back for bikes and camping gear. Insurance for me is less than our car – £350. great ground clearance. fit M&S tyres and it will be better than most 4WD’s. Way cheaper than a VW.

Tubeless is the way forward, i got fed up a few years ago with a spate of ruined races, thorns, pinch flats etc. I tried tubeless with and without specific tyres and it works a treat. My rims are Mavic 717’s and 819’s. Always carry a spare tube though just in case but never had to use it yet. Posts above are good, dont need to spend a great deal of money but probably need time and patience when you first put the tyres and solution together. D

After a cat c you have to get the vehicle MOT’ed. This should have already been done, if not then find out why or dont touch it.

Its a good deterent if you also install cctv warning signs. Make sure the cameras have infra red to pick up images in the dark. Get the highest res cameras without going into the realms of HD. Make sure the DVR(digital video rec) is secure in the house and has plenty of memory with extra capacity to add xtra cams. A good facility is to hook the dvr up to the router so you log on remotely to view the cams from abroad for instance. Colour cams are much better than BW. It is important to be able to play back the action that has happened during the recent days quite easily and quickly, for example if an intruder walks onto your property at 11.15 this needs to highlighted and accessed easily. Personally i would be looking at spending at least £70 on each camera. Do some more research. Good luck. D

My Jack is 9 years old now, so biking for him is over. He is a lab x with collie and hunterway. Really bright, easy to train, at his peak 30 miles no probs. you need a dog that aint gonna get tangled in other riders/runners legs and wheels. At the top of descents he would always hang back and run behind. At the top of climbs we would stop let everyone catch up, Jack would get excited and whine because he was eager to get running again. Would avoid running a dog hard until its 2years old and fully developed, joints are soft until 18months old.

apparently this year we have a fools autumn where the long period of dryness has caused the trees to shed leaves sooner, proper autumn is yet to come i have been informed………looks like autumn to me though. The romans use to call August as the start of autumn. the leaves round my way actually start changing in July.

So tymbian are some of your internal angles 120degree and some 135degree? I think Markie and me have been doing it as a regular octogan with 135 internals all round. From looking at your pics it loooks like the flatter angle is about 150degree and the near angle looks like 120ish. A digital angle finder is a good purcahse in this case.

Best thing i do is enter events for the future, Say for example a 30mile mtb race or enduro next spring. Gets me off the sofa cos i know if i dont attempt at least some training im gonna fail. Also train with a buddy as you are less likely to let your friend down. Do something you enjoy.

I agree good dog. Get your powerful headlamp and go lamping at night, the eyes shine up and the wabbits will take cover in the middle of fields and you can walk towards them with trusty dog at your side then send him off after them, its great fun. Sounds like your dog is quick enough to catch a young wabbit anyway, learn how to gut and stick em in the pot.

    Hi Tymbian
I am interested to see what Markie comes up with. Just done a sketch to scale with protractor and ruler. Allowing for a ridge beam of 500mm and a finial(100mm wide) post at each end you will need…4x rafters @ 1580mm and 4x rafters @1450mm. This gives a overhang of 100mm, but this also depends on guttering so this overhang can be reduced or extended by altering the rafters. This is at 30 degree pitch and the ridge running parallel to the 1350 sides. Sorry but cannot post picture cos ive done it with pencil and paper but to scale the proprotions and roof looks good. Let us know how you get on.

Is the shed walls built yet and now you only have the roof to do? I would construct the roof on the floor as long as you have a level floor. I have just done some scale drawings on paper with one finial and 30degree pitch and the rafters work out to 1800mm long less the thickness of the finial. This gives a overhang of 100mm. hope this helps.

great app i use builderscalcsroof i use on ipod. Enter all known details, gives plumb cuts, birds mouth cuts etc etc. To achieve same pitch all way round and same wall plate height you will need two high points.
