Ok. I can’t find any of it. Somebody point me in the right direction.
I would pay with a bunch of fives!

I did it last year and was good fun. Quite tough as the run is hilly and the overall toughness is much tougher than the sum of the individual parts if that makes sense??

I’ve heard of some really great places in Italy but can’t quite remember the name…….. It may come to me.

154 – can’t get your link to work?

As a closer option, anybody know of anything closer to Bristol thats worth doing?

Looks like I need to give it a go then. Thanks for the recommendations. I think UK Bikeskills or campbell coaching are the closets of the recommended ones to me. Proride guides looks a bit too far north.
    Thanks again.

Forgot to say, I’m running a 22t small ring as well. Should I go with SLX then or Deore? I’ve heard reports of having to file bit off etc etc.

    – Pi$$ through the letterbox.
    – Inflict shame on his family through facebook and work colleagues over the phone.

I’d say all of the above and he may get the message!

I’m guessing this thread is the wrong place to ask but it looks like I have an XTR / Hope matchmaker up for £15 posted. Brand new. Opened but not used!

They are quite inboard given the length of the brake levers. Can decide whether to run with them or use the original mounts.

Problem is from what I can see, the clamp that comes with the shifter has a retaining screw on the inside but the matchmaker doesn’t?? Therefore the lever can rotate on the bolt that holds the matchmaker to the top of the shifter???

I have a transition and I love it FWIW. A covert and not a Bandit though.

If the combined weight of you & your bike is heavier than anyone else you ride with then you will go faster downhills. To some degree/at some/given point.

I know this cos I’m loads heavier than my mate (same bike weight or thereabouts) & I go faster than him without pedalling, generally.

Have you tried swapping bikes? My physics is a bit rusty. but shouldn’t all things fall at the same rate on Earth.. air resistance etc aside and being fat should increase resistance. I’m guessing your bike has less rolling resistance or it’s your technique (subtle pumping etc).

Yes. If you dropped two bikes off a cliff and one was 20lbs and the other was 35lbs, it would be resistance that dictates which one hits the ground first not weight. It’s possible that the lighter bike will hit the deck first if it falls in a manner that offers less air resistance.

OMG. I haven’t slept for 2 days due to the sheer volume of midge bites I’m covered in from riding at the weekend!
I’ve been to Afan many times but never been midged. Where have they all come from?

My toughts are 2.35 highroller dual ply with my normal tubes. Was thinking that this would be better than single ply tyres with dh tubes in terms of weight and protection.

Would give the best puncture protection but weight will not be so great. Especially if I have to pedal up hill as I imagine the hills are big.

Due to our size difference I’m not sure this will help but:
I’m 5’7 and ride a small if this helps. It has a 50mm stem and is just about ok for me. I may change it to a 70mm after I return from the alps. I’m sure somebody taller will give you some better advice………

I’m still confused about the IPA thing.
    What is IPA??

Water mixed with a little baby shampoo and a 25/75 mix of IPA

Wet hands, wet tape, wet bike. Water mixed with a little baby shampoo and a 25/75 mix of IPA Water for the bits you need to stretch. I didn’t find any need for the hair dryer.

By IPA do you mean isopropyl alcohol??

Cheers Mark. Hadn’t thought of the hairdryer. Am I better off cutting shapes and applying to the bike or stick the lot on and trim the excess length off the bike?

I was thinking the same question. In climbing mode I probably need 250-300mm height from the frame to the seat rail. I was hoping to get away with the 380mm as well and had my eye on the 125mm drop. Is there any reason to choose the 100mm drop as from what I can see it weighs more and drops less??

Now I want to get a reverb on it. Is 125mm drop left hand kit the best option?

ok. I just got a new bike and want to get helicopter tape on it for protection. Any ideas how much of the stuff I will need before I order too much / little?? It’s a 17″ bike if that helps?

The are trees across the W2 link between wall and whites but they are passable. I did the whole W2 and managed it but the last downhills of whites are diverted. I ended up doing the skyline decent instead.

I like them becauase they’re close but I do think that they are designed with H&S in mind. You can’t get up any real speed because the corners are so tightly packed. I’m guessing they were designed this way to keep the speed down?

I don’t think the Fabia was launched until 2000 (x reg) so unless there’s some sort of weird privat plate going on it won’t be an R reg. Unless it wasn’t a fabia??
