I’m going to have to disagree with you on that one Skip, I’ve used mine plenty of times to good effect, you just have to be careful. *winky*

Whilst I agree with argee up to a point, isn’t the lack of VAT due to their charitable status, or have I got that wrong? Two things: why should they have charitable status – should that be the case. And the obvious one, there are alternatives, the local authority provides them, why can’t they send their kids there?

Exactly thecaptain, PROFIT. Therefore the argument goes that if you invest some/all of that profit back into your company, TO ENCOURAGE GROWTH, that money isn’t taxed.

Unlike the current model of make loads of profit, pay bugger-all corporation tax and make yourself even richer. And somehow that’s going to grow the economy is it? (cynical emoji).

    Sobertober, surely?

Not for me, I’m been crying constantly, sobbing like a baby. (tearful emoji)  However, on a more cheerful note, I’ve just created a new bandwagon for people to jump on.   ( 0:

Dear BBC, I’m sorry I referred to ‘license plates’ in my recent email, but I forgot that we’re not yet part of the USA. (smiley tongue in cheek emoji).

What did the article say that was untrue?

    Precisely.
The biggest ever single donation to the Labour Party? A hedge fund based, off-shore, in the Cayman Islands? Links to private health, fossil fuel companies and arms manufacturers? Potentially dodgy timing so it didn’t have to be declared until NOW? The absolute ****, how dare they?

Anyway, back to the PM’s perks picked-up by the popular press . . . great fun for a little lighthearted merriment. However, a tit-bit that they’ve not bothered with yet, but was mentioned by Damo on YouTube yesterday was this little story ‘Labour given £4m from tax haven-based hedge fund with shares in oil and arms’. I imagine that four million quid buys a lot of favours.

Give Zen a ring (01706902573), you’ll speak to a real person in Rochdale and I’m sure they’ll be able to tell you if it’s do-able or not. I’m sure the Outreach people will be able to chase the old line and reconnect you. You don’t need a traditional ‘land-line phone’, in fact Zen only offer ‘digital voice’ should you need it.

Glad you got your bike back Renton, what an awful experience.

What is the actual point of the police?

Well, according to Marxist theory they’re there to protect the interests and wealth of the ruling class, so bikes aren’t included I’m afraid.

No, I don’t think so WCA. However, don’t forget, like all these things that we little people think are shit and are inconvenienced by, someone will have made a lot of money out of it.

and some of those are sold the far right answer as the solutions as they are the only solutions they are being offered

One reason is the insane amount of air-time Farage and his ilk get on national television versus the likes of the Greens etc.

The fact we have main stream politicians pushing on leaving it is disconcerting

Because they now have to serve their masters. If Murdoch (and other foreign owned right wing media owners) say jump, sir Keith’s only question is ‘how high’.

Spada make/made reasonably priced motorbike clothing. In fact I have a pair of their waterproof textile winter gloves that I use on the pushbike in inclement weather. Cheap AND cheerful I’d say.

@MSP I finished the BassBuzz ‘Beginner to Bad Donkey’ course in about 6 weeks, I found it a great start. It’s a real shame that Josh hasn’t done a follow up as he’s very engaging. I’ve also done a musical theory course and one-and-a-half Groove Trainer courses with Mark at Talking Bass. He has a very different style to Josh, but I’ve enjoyed the courses. I really didn’t like the Fender Play style of doing things, but hey ho, each to their own!

Framlingham Castle (and its name-sake pub, also known as the Two Brewers), is just up the road from me (and Ed). It’s worth a look, as is the church. However my favourite is Dover Castle – Roman bits and Cold War bits and bits in between.

I’m mad keen on the electric bass guitar, I practice (a lot) every day, I find it very rewarding but I wouldn’t say I could ‘play’ it. Weirdly, up until recently, I was the percussionist in a local band, mainly playing the cajon, which came completely naturally and was totally unrewarding! I wanted to play bass, they didn’t want a bass player, so that was the end of that!

@Speeder has it. Any of the Late Brake Shows on YouTube (there’re all pretty much the same) should give you a good idea.
