My mate snapped that frame one drop off after building it. What year are your 36’s? can they be set at 180mm? If you can i would be looking for a 200mm freeride bike with a 135mm rear end and a head tube to match your steerer on your current forks (or bigger). Transfer the parts over and replace stuff you decide is not up to the job or that breaks. Or if 160 is all thats possible just look for a 170mm freeride frame. Thats just what i would do. Your bike will never be what you want it to be and you will always be worried about snapping it. If your not carefull you could end up with a pile of cash in a bike that you will never get back, and the bike might still not be able to do what you ask of it.

Some speed limits are however just silly. 70mph on a motorway??

So are you not a selfish prick if you deliberately break that?

My theory behind that was car safety is getting better. The human body is not getting any better at being crashed into. So therefore if when that limit was imposed a risk assessment was done and they arrived at the conclusion that 70 was a good limit. If that same risk assessment was done today i am sure the figure would be either much higher or the risk much lower.

I was people would quote all relevant parts…. maybe i souldent of called you speeders selfish pricks. sorry

My view is if you think saving time on your journey by speeding is ok then you are a selfish prick

    You’re a selfish pr**k – there you go.

There’s not one person commenting on this forum that’s never driven over the speed limit including you.

Its easy to quote only part of my point. It is selfish endangering other people because you are in a rush or have just decided to speed. Its simply not fair. Its ok 99% of the time, no harm done ect ect. But is speeding only selfish when you kill someone?

And i have never gone above the speed limit on public roads when driving. Infact i have never driven on public road never even had a licence. so its pretty safe to say i have NEVER broken the speed limit

I am not reading 15 pages so will someone please give me a sit rep as to what is happening in hear?

It looks like its about speeding.

My view is if you think saving time on your journey by speeding is ok then you are a selfish prick.

I come to this conclusion as you must think saving a little time in you own life is worth ending someone else’s.

Some speed limits are however just silly. 70mph on a motorway?? Low speed limits when chance of coming into contact with pedestrians is ok as the human body is not getting any better at being run over. But when the 70mph limit was first enforced cars wear shit and now they are pretty damm good.

    Centerlock is technically better.
6 bolt is better in practice.

as said above 30 is old as ****. Its when you are officially an adult.

It is a milestone, but the milestone should read “move along nothing happening here”

Absolutely no reason to celebrate. I was gutted when i turned 20 as i was no longer a teenager. When i turn 30 its going to be a sad sad day 🙁

    1. fully reset the pistons on the calipers
    2. bolt mount to bike. tighten to correct torque
    3. bolt caliper to mount. tighten then unscrew quarter of a turn
    4. looking from the top or side make the disc sit in the center of the caliper and tighten
    5. as you pull the leaver one piston might move towards the disc faster than the other, you want to slow this piston down with a very small flat screwdriver so the pads come into contact with the disc at the exact same time.

If you do this and the rotor is still rubbing then its warped. so replace rotor and repeat.

is the lock currently locked to something? A hammer, some mole grips and a vice usually help in these situations. piccy would be good maybe this could be as much fun as the “help me open my safe” thread.

ps. are you using the correct key? and turning the right way?

water water water. not just today but everyday. coffee is not water, fizzy pop is not water, even diluted cordial is not water. There is no substitute for water.

    water
    water
    water

even better ice cold water, with crushed ice now that does fill you up

nope it would be 0.375 inches too big. but i was thinking maybe a spacer could be made to work? or would a tapered steerer go straight in?

Its fashion for some but all bout the feel for other.

Also if you have a fox fork and like it you are taking a risk buying anything else. Some folk dont like change and like to stick with what they know, but seem to forget there ounce was a time when fox or rockshock ect was new to them as a brand. Its the same with loads of things we buy not just forks.

I use some flat Nike trainers. The tread pattern is perfect for flat pedals and allow the pins to sit nicely within the gaps in the tread. Not the best for walking up steep hills but very good on the pedals
