    Pupdate!

So we got a puppy about 6 weeks ago and she’s settling in very well. The cats aren’t doing too badly with it, but when the puppy is excited she’ll chase as far as she can (until she gets stopped by either a baby gate or a cat hiss).

We do some reinforcement training by rewarding her when she is in the same room as them and stays calm, but the opportunity for this doesn’t present itself that often.

Is she likely to naturally grow out of it or do we need to ramp up the training for this?

Is it just general puppy excitement or do we risk her taking it into adulthood if we don’t nip it in the bud?

Feel free to tell me I’m overthinking it – I’m cool with that if that’s the case!

There’s a new season of Follow the Money out! I’ve only just spotted this and haven’t watched it yet but is there a main character missing?

She lives near me and seeing her in the local garden centre last summer was literally the highlight of my year.

Edit – ah yes she was godmother and stepmother wasn’t she.

£200 a month saving on the insurance could pay for a lot of taxis!

If a horse breaks it’s leg, it will be shot because it won’t be able to heal – they won’t stay lying down. They aren’t shot because ‘they’ll never race again’.

Not defending racing btw – I’m not a fan.

Edit – we had a horse when I was younger. Lovely thing he was but he developed an inability to sleep standing up (vet suggested he might have been struck by lightning). So he used to fall over if he fell asleep standing, and one day he broke his leg. He had to be shot.

There has been a thread about this in the last couple of days – might be of assistance.

Have you got a laptop or a PC? There’s a whatsapp app available for windows which works when your phone is nearby. I use it when I’m working. I just wondered if you could use that to back up your chats.

Can’t you use the desktop app to back up messages?

I love it. I’ve learned so much from it – it’s not just about the photography (if you don’t want it to be).

Don’t underestimate what you’ve been through – a few sessions with a specialist trauma therapist would probably help.

So weirdly I don’t think I had ever seen Kristin Scott Thomas in anything before, ever. I had no idea how amazingly gorgeous she really is! (I’m a straight woman, btw, haha!).

5 minutes of exercise per month of age over a whole day

Ah OK – I thought it was OK to do that twice a day. Mind you, mine isn’t going anywhere anytime soon…

I should be managing project whilst delegating the bulk of the design downwards, as I can’t spend all day travelling/in meetings, like today, whilst also producing detailed design packages!

Problem is lack of people to delegate down to…

A friend of mine is going through a similar thing with a consultant in the south west. The construction industry lost a lot of good people in the recession – the problem is that when the industry picked up again, we didn’t get those people back. Those of us that were lucky enough to keep our jobs were then loaded with the additional increased workload but with no extra resources or support.

It caused me to leave the construction sector about two years ago. I miss the people, but I’m glad I don’t have the same level of anxiety as before. Life is too short.

I watched three episodes last night and was quite touched by it all. I think Gervais does a great job of portraying the character’s amount of ***** given.
