    Australian Case
Reminds me a lot of the case in Australia of the respected Judge and the speeding ticket. See Link above.

All his lying really is pathetic. Claiming innocence while knowing he is guilty…. never get that in professional sport…… oh wait…. 😯

Walk in from Kinlochhourn to Inverie for a weekend, fish off the pier, eat, drink and be merry at The Old Forge, take ferry to Mallaig, then train back to Glasgow.

Tiree, camp, hotel, winsurf, beach surfing (great fun). Drink, eat. Go by plane from Glasgow for superb views and its not expensive.

It always amazes me how different people have different perceptions about films. Keeps us all individual. Most of the above I like or at least don’t dislike.

One of the only ones I never “got” was Twin Peaks.

I remember seeing a whole big stuff on iDave, was this not a diet thing? Did it turn out to be a scam?

Well, you probably are a holder of RBS shares if you are a tax payer…. Send them your passport number, bank details, birth certificate and sit back and wait.

Saw Thrum in I think 13th Note back in the day.

Band I enjoyed was called The Smiles, superb live, big sound, quirky, all dressed in crushed velvet, some cracking tunes. They got signed and the stylists got to work, stripped their personalities out, and dumbed down the sound, real shame. Think they only has 1 single…..

Fair play to him, the charity gets his salary and presumable any tax he would have paid on it. Not sure how some people think he has a tax break on it, as he will have given it all away.

So he gives a shedload to charity yet people still feel the need to be critical. 🙄

Casual but smart….. polo shirt would be fine or xmas jumper, no jeans, casual trousers and clean shoes, not trainers. Clean pants and socks as well. Smart outdoor jacket.

New chain should mean new casette, even 1000 miles will have wear in it and probably skip in your most poular gears. Good luck.

SWIFT and BIC codes are the same – NWBKGB2L for Nat West, the IBAN code should incorporate this at some point. That should be all you need, IBAN will also incorporate your Sort Code and Account number so that funds get direct to your account, however, there will probably be charges for this.

Obviously be careful of payments from abroad, so that you make sure they are paid for before you send goods and that it a trustworthy source/buyer.

Did it the other way for a while, 1.5 hours travel, 35 minute drive to Croy, 35 on train then a wee walk. Found the train was pretty reliable, on time virtually all the time. If you close to Waverly and dont have much travel to get there, and work would be close to Qn St. then its not too bad. Only downside is the price of the train, probably about £100 p/w (maybe more).

Was never keen on a safari before, but went on one as part of a trip to see Total Solar Eclipse in Botswana. The safari was far better than I ever though, something so very magical seeing all the wildlife up close, not just the big stuff, but all the smaller stuff too, brilliant insects, birds, plants and trees. Bring good camera and plenty of spare batteries.

Oh, and the Total Eclipse was simply awe inspiringly beautiful.

I have a Therm a Rest 3/4 when needing more comfort, and a 1/2 length when weight is an issue, i.e. cycle touring. Covers shoulders and hips and is pretty warm and never had an issue. Both were about £60, and never needed anything else, used for a good number of years.

It should be simple really, if you are in a mixed use Country Park and can see clearly that the trail is being erroded and churned up by bikes that you should question why you are on that trail. Some go through area’s of SSI, and you should find an alternative route. I have been involved in Trail maintenance in Mugdock and see first hand the issues that overuse has caused, therefore in wet weather avoid the trails that can get damaged and only venture their when frozen or after a dry spell.

Some folk don’t care and plough on regardless, spoiling it for other users.

If a trail is closed don’t assume it’s H&S gone mad or a faceless official trying to spoil your fun, respect the sign’s and ride elsewhere, that way it can save the trails and a lot of hassle for other riders/trailbuilders.

Explain in more detail on the sing why the trail is closed with examples then hope.

Traaaaa laaaaa laaaaa. That’s the singing……..

Do you really think the people that ignore these signs will read a more detailed explanation, stroke their beards in thought, then say “ahhhhh, that’s why their closed, lets not shred this trail”

Only way….. splat, splat……. paint gun, get their frames, get their pride and joy covered in paint and then watch the fun. Recommend night vision goggles if doing it in the dark hours. 8)

Paint gun, few cans of beer, then you turn the whole thing into a decent sport. Due to protective clothing you would not hurt the riders, and you could amend the closed notice to advise paint balling is being conducted in the vicinity. Be great fun.

Banks charge less for DD, therefore it is cheeaper for the compant to process them. Anyway, it is a discount for paying via DD rather than extra charge for other method.

Quick search of the postcode/street on google maps will confirm which is correct. Best putting on the registered one, as it is what is registered. Anyway street/house number will take precedent.

Any one of the above would get the guy fired, so what was the problem with work not taking action?

Have had a Mazda Bongo for 2 years and love it. 6 weeks round France in the summer was no bother and I used it as main vehicle (though have a small, very cheap car now as well)

Fits in most spaces width wise, but not into height restricted car parks (nearly had a nasty accident at Glasgow Airport!)

Not so good on deisel, hence the small car, get about 27mpg, but it is a great vehicle, full conversion.

Bit of a non entity thead. We have no idea how close the Police was when you pulled out, what might have been a “tight but manageable space” to you could have had many of us bricking it.

I assume that the Police car was pretty close and moving quite fast as you pulled out, so he was extremely quickly right behind you during your overtake.

Personally, better to give plenty of room, much more than a “tight but manageable space”

It wasn’t just as simple as lending too much that caused the crises, it was how the Banks then dealt with that debt – packaging up the Sub Prime mortgages and selling them on around the world, through multiple investment vehicles. Once these started turning bad, it had a very large domino effect, property prices crashed and these investments turned toxic as virtually all Banks were exposed. To add to the problem, many Banks not just lent, but also bought into the equity of the companies they were lending to, most prominantly property investment companies, so when they started sliding, not only was the lending going bad, but the Banks investment in said companies became worthless.

Answer it honestly. Yes, indeed the Bank have a responsibility for the Banking Crises (the clue is in the name of the Crises). However, you also acknowledge that the Banks are indeed putting their house in order, and that there is still a lot of work to be done in correcting what went wrong, and that you are thrilled to have the opportunity to play your small part in taking the whole industry forward, and back to a place that it is again a well trusted and respected part of society.

Way bette than anything Attenborough peddles.

Why, what sort of bike does he use? 🙂

Big fan of Sir David, the Africa series is superb, and his previous Life… series were simply suberb, setting the benchmark for all wildlife documentaries.

Circular Quay, Opera House, Botanic gardens, another shout for the bats, you get very close to them. The Rocks market is pretty good if you are there on a Sunday. Feery from Circular Quay to Darling Harbour to get great view of Bridge from the water. take ferry to Watsons bay and visit The Gap, great views from there back to downtown, and a great Restaurant is Doyle’s on the beach.

Bondi is a litte overrated, but worh seeing, take bus there then walk to Coogee along the cliff walk and bus back from there.

I did enjoy Taronga zoo, but its a zoo….. better exploring other places – train to Katoomba for Blue Mountains, very do-able in a day.
I never tired of the Bridge/Opera house view and the walk along from Circulay Quay.
