depends how old the car is?

personally after having a rover 214si as a first car….once the heads gone its time to walk away!
but then a 25 might be different.

paid around £250 for new head/skimming etc

have not ridden airs but coils are buttery smooth and take a battering.

Swapping out springs to match weight is an easy job, but obv not as easy as precisly tuning air chambers.

i am mtfu but its freakin annoying and i know this place is frequented by doctors so thought someone might have an idea.
Is that a serious suggestion about worms? I did drink from a particularly dodgy water source recently…

Seriously sweet bike!!! soo much fun, run with pikes and fat tyres. Box chainstays do keep it pretty stiff but its just so responsive and hard wearing.

    Best money i ever spent!

Ride it for hours, back is not too much of an issue, probably more due to bag weight/seat height/stem+bar reach etc?

I'm pretty tall so have the xl and its perfect.

Buy one dude, won't regret it!

sounds good to me, love sites where you can just 'chat', resolves problems quickly for free! and you can do it from work or uni.

tibal- nope i am definately doing it, leaving spring 2011, after finishing uni and raising cash. Just want to get ideas as to how to do it, i dont want to end up coming home after a month and not getting anywhere!

    walla24

TJ did you do all that on your own?

    walla24

Well tbh i all i have done in the past is a few family holidays to france etc so dont really have a clue, went to Jordan for research last summer which was amazing and now i want more.
Its got to be different to the UK though, i mean like europe might be a bit 'samey' so id love to get just more east if that makes sense.
This i going to be my first real trip, and having not been anywhere before its hard to just choose the one area to go to, hence the round the world idea 🙂

I was thinking of doing it by van but i definatelky want to be meeting people and getting more of a flavour of the place so maybe hiking/public transport/bike but then again i do actually want to get a long way which im worried hiking/biking might not happen.

Also if i could pick up some work/volunteer work on the way that would be good, i dont mind just working for food.

    Yup

    hello,
i stil have a used one from my clearout a while back.
    Any good to you?

    walla24

No. I used to bleed the 'motorcycycle' way but its not as effective in my opinion.

    Re-bleed as before but:

as you go, flick the hoses and tap the caliper/lever to move on the air bubbles.

Do you have a hose or something attached at the lever bleed hole?

If yes, push thru fluid till no more bubbles come out, then (with fluid visible in the pipe @ bleed hole) close off the lower bleed nipple (on caliper) and pull on the lever sharply a number of times.
    Bubbles will exit the lever.
As the bubbles leave, fluid will need to take its place so either ensure there is still fluid @ the bleed hole or push thru some more from the bottom.

Thats what helped me out anyways.
Let me know how it goes.

p.s also !make sure the pistons in the calliper are pushed back all the way before you start!
