set your boss up into the position whereby something he was expecting you to do, that he should have done himself, blows up in his face big time, and you can’t be blamed for it.

    THIS!

Good choice sir, my preferred choice (over ardents/high rollers etc).
2.35 front, 2.2 rear….love the grip, love the low weight!

However…the 2.35 i bought new (good price at evans) had a number of pin holes in the sidewall from new…one ripped larger after a few rides and would no longer seal. Sure its just an unlucky batch!
Needless to say evans were faultless with returns (1 year bontrager warranty) and my replacement is in the post!

Both come up wide (2.2 is wider than a maxxis ‘2.35’)

Be very careful trying to swap or trim without bleeding, make sure you have no air leaking in or else next time you flip your bike upside down the bubbles will move and ul be off to the LBS

Take it to a shop, its not always a case of just giving every spoke the same ‘quarter turn’ etc.
Or have a go and get them to check tensions etc after

Google Sheldon Brown’s wheel building guide, excellent read

OP- good on you for speaking out, too many people just let these scum get away with stuff like this. If everyone actually grew a backbone and spoke up they wouldn’t be able do it.
Makes me so angry when I see them passing on bad behaviour to their kids.

I ask people to step out of the shop until they have calmed down now, in front of kids/shoppers no problem…It is not our responsibility to deal with the asshats.

Marcus- leave it out, a jobs a job.

If you have replaced chain/cassette then it wi slip on worn teeth up front.
You will need to take the cranks off to change the middle ring.

I would say it is well worth popping to your LBS for a quick chat, they should be able to tell straight away if your rings are worn, or quickly have a peek in your free hub.

Agreed sounds like middle ring slippage over teeth as allowed to between rings?
