I’ve used a few different shocks on mine. Personally ccdba was the best. The inlines however have a design flaw and can’t handle slightly heavier riders or large hits.

    The ohlins is really good.

A friend of mine is running a float x2 at the moment and thinks it’s the best so far. He won the FOD enduro in the seniors on it the other day and said it performed amazingly.

Along with the seal head is a new extended rebound shaft/rebound piston mount. The Extended rod is no longer undersized from the rod so it slides in the seal head bushing, its triangulated so it stops above the bushing.

the grey bottomless tokens are different too. They’re a little narrower to allow for air to move past the sides for some reason.

    Aaaaaaannndddd……

Use a eccentric bottom bracket too then you’d have a

Enduro 27.5+ with 650b link( circa 66 degree head angle) 423mm chainstay length, 155mm rear, 160 front travel and a reach of 452mm.

    Poor kittens….

Enduro 29 with 27.5+ wheels and 650b linkage. Just monster truck everything.

I’ve had a 26,27.5 and 29 enduros.I’m now on a large capra. The capra is bigger than all of them. Fact.
I’m just under 6ft on a large capra.
All my enduros bar one medium 26 I had were large.

The reason people think that the capra is small is because of the steep seat tube angle. It helps keep the weight over the front whilst climbing.

Really miss mine. It was the fastest bike I’ve ever ridden.
Had a offset upper shock Bush and 6mm machined off the shock and link mount giving 66deg HA.

If you’re going for 26in then LB can make your rims fully UST with a sealed rim bed…. Winner!

Bare in mind that the enduro 29 uses a shorter stroke @ 2.25 but still an eye to eye length of 8.5. There will always be a large part of the shock shaft showing at full travel.
Imo the ccdbaircs is the best shock to go for on this bike albeit slightly heavier than the competitors.
The base settings provided by spesh /cane Creek are garbage though. Dave at TF tuned
Has helped my with some new settings on all my db’s which have been amazing.

One cool thing I’ve done is fit an offset bush and machined 10mm off the shock and proprietary mount resulting in 66 degree head angle. For me this is perfect. The thing rails and is much better on the steep stuff.

    35mm hookless, 12k.
Great wheels. I’m using hans dampf atm. Did have butcher /Purgatory which worked quite well but on these rims the carcass was wider than the tread so experimenting with the hd.

What tyres are people running with the 29 x 35mm hookless?
I’m using butcher and Purgatory 2.3s and the casing is wider than the tread by a few mm.

The numbers look good. Finally a Shortish rear cs from Santa Cruz.
I also hated the kickback from the previous vpp, hopefully they’ve addressed the kinematics with this one.

I have some hoops, arch ex on pro 2 straight pull hubs, black with 20, 15mm adaptes and rear qr,and maxle adapters.

Paid 400 with adapters couple of weeks ago, extra for axle adapters and straight pull.

Used them once and they’re as new condition.

I ordered my wheels from them on the 6th March and they arrived on the 27th.
That’s not bad considering they were out of stock on the hubs at the time which delayed things, then had to build and ship them.

The wheels are great, they ride amazingly.
I used duct tape and stans valves to set up tubeless. They inflated and held pressure perfectly, even without fluid!

The only problems i had was that the freehub was pushing up against the bearings and after inspection i noticed there was a washer/spacer missing between hub bearing and freehub body.
The rear adapter for the axle is also slightly different from my other hope wheels and doesnt allow the xx1 cassette to sit properly on the freehub.
I think it may be a aftermarket piece.

    Thanks j273
It looks a bit odd in pictures but much more different in the flesh.

The rims are the light bicycle 35mm width, hookless. They are beasts!!!!

I bought a lg g2 f320(Korean version) From simply electronics.
Wasn’t easy to find in the uk.
It was a good price and only took a few days to arrive.
They didn’t charge import duty either.
    Pretty awesome

It’s true that there is so many great bikes available,it makes decisions tricky.

I had just built my mach 6 when my friend at a lbs said he could get me a troy lee enduro 29 so i put a deposit down and sold my forks and wheels.
I wanted an enduro 29 for ages and rather haphazardly went for it.
To be honest i should have stayed with the mach 6. I’ve been riding my friends one lately and i think they’re probably the best enduro bike going.
It’s my favorite variation of DW suspension yet, pedals like a HD, descends like a dh bike.
Mine is a large in blue with new hope headset a and xtr bb.
I want 2100 for it which i think is a good price considering it’s basically new and hard to get hold of in a large.

I’ve got a basically brand new pivot mach 6 going for a good price with hope headset and xtr bb if you’re interested?

    @J273 No link sorry.
I just emailed Carolin with my specification and everything was a ‘go’, apart from the tubless rim bed. Its doable on the 26, 33mm but not these 29, 35mm.

I’m being told by my lbs that ENVE tubless tape is basically gorilla tape~printed, and to use This….

One thing i didn’t think about when ordering is straight pull or j bend hubs.
Apparently straight pull are stiffer for 29.
Have i missed out by buying j bend?

I’m waiting on a set to be sent to finish my enduro.
29er, 35mm hookless on hope hubs.
I initially wanted some derbys but he’s out of stock atm.
I did ask if they ccould make them with a sealed rim bed so they’d be fully UST but was told that the rim depth wont allow for this.
So I’m guessing stans dh tape is the one to use?

Yep,I’ve got some 650b Crossmax enduro with xx1.
Bought the xx1 freehub separate. Pull off the old freehub and then you need to take the pawls and springs from the original and use them in the new one, oil and replace. Install cassette and axle spacers and it’s ready.

    Runs awesome

@Thegnarlycenturion i don’t know about 140 or 160 but the 170 clear 650b easily even on full compression with a hans dampf and mavic 2.4.
