With the despatch/expert avoid the 1.6 diesel engine. It’s the same engine that goes in peugeot/citroen/ford cars and there are lots of very expensive turbo problems. The oil feed pipe to the turbo is too small and blocks. Fitting a new turbo does not fix things without a 12 hour process to clean the engine and feed pipe so avoid ones that say new turbo just fitted.

not doubting you for a second, but the wife has this engine in the fiesta and its been bl**dy great, loads of poke and pulls like a train i service it regular and its been fine for the last 50k miles. (probably curse it now)

slight hi-jack.. can anyone confirm if this engine is ‘chain’ driven rather than a normal belt? ive been told it is.

i’d say your on the right lines with a Citroen Dispatch/Peugeot Expert, 3 seats up front aswell.

I wouldn’t worry about it Houns. In the past you had to be worried about getting mugged on the way back to your tent, or getting a batch of the mythical ‘Bad’ Acid. Nowadays you’re just running the risk of Tabatha and Jemima spilling their Savignon Blanc on you in a fit of over-excitement at the organic fair trade hemp clothing stall.

i think it has changed since i was last there in 1994, think it was 1994, we were working on the main bar, i cant remember much.

Pretty reasonable tbh, I was selling my old Focus for a grand, which was a competitive price, probably a little under the average as I wanted it gone. First person to see it offered £500, next person £600. So everyone else that called got told don’t piss about. You’re not losing sales this way, you’re losing timewasters.

i can see your point aswell, but i just thought the guy wasnt doing himself any favours as its be relisted twice with no bids.

    hi,

i have a lumia 625, the only negatives for me is the crap screen, camera, and the keyboard is crap, maybe its me but after nearly 6 months of usage i still cant type a text message in one go without full stops appearing or spelling words wrong. i used to have an S5 and the keyboard was way better, then again it could be the crap screen? im no expert.

but im guessing the one you want will be better in all departments.

ref apps, they are lacking a bit but nothing too much to worry about, ebay is fine but autotrader can crash quite alot.

oh it does hang a little bit aswell and you have to reboot it, maybe twice a week.

my prefect thread… all i have to do is wait till we move into a bigger house and then i can get a whippet…

i cant stop laughing at this pic..

there are two phrases you see on autotrader etc which boil my blood..

“first to see will buy” – how the **** do you know, have a crystal ball?!!!

“in the best colour” – yes in your eyes, but not mine

there was a classic on ebay the other week a guy trying to sell a vw transporter, good add then att eh bottom he put something along the lines of

“i WILL NOT take anything less than price given, do not turn up and expect the pirce to drop”

Yet I’ve just found out they are English, and Brian Molko is Scottish.

hahah i thought this for years aswell…

was listening to some 90’s stuff the other night and Gene came on, didn’t know the lead singer was Welsh.

+i now feel old as i can remember buying their first album on a long forgotten invention called a ‘cassette’!

no, it’s amazing, will never forget my 4 year old daughter sat on her mums lap transfixed for the whole film.

saw it again a few weeks ago, only about 3 families there, all the kids were dancing at the front, i was asleep this time though

I HATE Olaf. The film just did not need him. Very Jaja binks(sp)!

    have to agree with that

well for a start your onto a winner with the 1.6, we fell under the spell of a dodgy car salesman and ended up buying a 1.8 focus.

the thing drank fuel it was terrible, flogged it after 3 months.

if we’d gone for the 1.6 we’d still have it.

GTA3 was a huge eye opener.

i gave modern warfare etc a crack and its all the bl**dy same after a while.

have to say COD zombies was a bit different until they c*cked it up with tranzit, all went downhill after ascension in my eyes to be honest.

all showing our age now 😉

A bit ambitious really – the constant loading from disk killed it.

aaah god the disc loading, forgot how bad it was!

it was a hard game, don’t think I even got halfway through!

another classic was ‘north and south’.

as said it’s impossible to answer, too many to mention as with each jump in technology certain games just made you go WOW!

    but my 5p worth

manic miner, fond memories on the spectrum

shadow of the beast on the amiga, purely for the OMFG jump in technology, graphics and sound

bubble bobble is still al classic

tomb raider on ps1, again massive jump in graphics

metal gear solid was another WTF moment

GTA III, first 3D world, madness

i know its rose tinted specs but its just not the same these days, were almost spoilt and were spoilt for choice.

the only game really to make me sit up was unchartered 3

ps- did any of you ever play a game called ‘midwinter’ on the amiga, that was amazing!

    *bookmarks thread aswell.

ive been looking on ebay, gumtree, autotrader last few months and i cant believe the prices of T4/T5’s!! high mileage and still asking for 10k, its mental, i guess in part it is an image thing causing this.

i do love them but cant quite afford one yet, in my eyes there really is no alternative, apart from the transit custom, im sure they will be fighting head to head with vw when the prices fall as they are so new.

Cheers all, thanks for the tips, just need to grow a pair and get on with it!

All I know is the small bottom pipe is where any water drains out.

    waihiboy

cheers, so basically fill the filter up first but using the priming bulb.

so to get it right, put a pipe onto the fuel inlet (top pipe in the picture)

then attached priming bulb to pipe, then another length of pipe from bulb into can of fuel.

(wheres the bleed nipple?) all i can see is the water outlet, bottom left when looking at pic 🙂

    It’s one of these…

the fuel heater is not attached, it slides onto the side of the unit and plugs into the hole.

cheers for that, the ford filters are a bit weird, they are not inline.

its one of those jobs that could be a doddle or a fekin nightmare.

im going to defo fill the filter first, i guess if it goes to sh*t, shut the bonnet and ring the RAC 😉

don’t talk to me about morrisons…

went in there once and ordered an omelette, took one bite half of it was frozen!

i don’t know what scared me the most…

1 – frozen omelettes actually exist!

2 – the person in the kitchen couldnt even re-heat a frozen omelette properly

I love these threads, ive wanted a dog since i was a kid but never allowed one!

still can’t convince the wife, latest excuse “the house isn’t big enough, wait till we move” – total b*llox, yes small 2 bed semi but a huge conservatory on the back.

i work shifts now so her excuses are dropping off..

i am 98.9% this close ( ) to just bringing one home!

    im set on a whippet

    I HATE YOU ALL!!!

    sorry, not jealous at all…

aim to get some sort of transporter in the next year.

    can i slight hi jack…

the aim is to do a good few european trips, myself, the wife and our daugter who’s currently 4

i’d obviously buy a model with the 2 person passenger bench upfront, but i’ve heard they are dead uncomfortable on long runs.

    1 – is this true?

2 – is it posisble to fit two seperate front passenger seats of better quality? I’m guessing the cab is just not wide enough

    cheers

me again… there was a passage in the chris evans autobiography where his dad had cancer and was in the house the last few weeks.

it went something like “i dealt with it early on, the man upstairs wasnt my dad anymore, he’d left weeks ago to a much better place”

    always remembered that.

    waihiboy
    Free Member

    sorry to hear that…

my dad was diagnosed with lung cancer in the may and left us in the november aged 72 . (2007)

all i can suggest is ‘try’ and talk, mum just closed down totally, still hasnt opened up all these years later, my brother just ingnored it and to be fair dad just put up with it, oldskool style as they do , too much pride.

the MacMillan nurses we had were amazing, real angels, i can remember it all as if it was yesterday. they really helped me out as i still havent dealt with it to be honest.

everyone deals with it in a different way, im a realist and most of the family thought i was an uncaring w*nker because i have a very dark sense of humour. again everyone is different i couldnt just sit there and be morbid, its amazing the things you remember.

anyway im going off on one!

    best of luck! 🙂

it is good but as said, there were a few stinker episodes but on the whole it was good.

one of the best hidden gems i saw recently that i missed was ‘nighty night’…. i was still laughing going to bed.

i think certain people like certain comedy, i loved the recent vic and bob ‘house of fools’ the wife just wanted to smash the tv in.
