If you can get hold of the Guardian from Saturday there was a huge feature on Turkey in the travel section.

I went from a Meta5 to a Blue Pig, not regretted it one bit.

Blue Pig sounds perfect for what you want and the cost is good also.

I think we have reached a new low point for arguing on STW…

This 15QR nonsense is just a made up standard that fox and shimano came up with because rockshox already have the best tool for the job (maxle)

rockshox are now making forks with a 15mm maxle…

    or pikes?

Main issue I had with the 2.4 RQ was when using a neoguard as this restricted the spaced further and would clog up with pine needles etc.

I can't take proper credit, I got the inspiration from another thread pre-hack where it was about fraud. I think it was "I was misled into thinking this was a mountain bike site but it appears to be frequented by overpriced bike part collectors" – it may have been Binners who said that?

Ace vid, one assumes DBW has his own videos that are better then??

As for the "northern" thing, to me (north of the border) you are southern – a mistake I made recently when asking a chap if he was from down south the withering look I received when he said Manchester was priceless…

The DH bike is supposed to come in around the £2k mark (full bike) but obviously not the same spec as in the pic.

Society is just changing, if I meet up with mates midweek then it's generally for a coffee. I would not even consider a pub midweek.

I've ran my XT shifters for the last 2 years without a blanking plate and there have been no issues.

Hopefully the Glas Maol lift will be working when you go back up – the runs there are superb. I might head up to Glencoe tomorrow – 6" of fresh yesterday plus whatever will have fallen last night and today!

What time are you running at? If it's later in the evening then that may explain why you are having trouble sleeping.

SFB – you've already stated that you only buy new parts when they wear out so why go to all the bother of creating and replying to this thread if it's unlikely it will have any bearing on you at all?

+1 for Glenshee, was there on Sunday – some really nice snow in places. Only issue I had was the mental queues which you will not get mid-week.

TJ – nope, until I clicked the link it's exactly what I thought. :-)

There's the Kings HGouse Hotel near Glencoe for Apresboard but that's about it.

If it's an issue then the Nevis Range is probabaly another option as you'll have all the pubs in Fort William to choose from. Seeing as you are a boarder then Nevis Range also has a 4 man chairlift which is easier than using the drag lifts all the time.

All 5 centres are open at present with the east coast centres having the best conditions. I was at Glenshee on saturday and the conditions were fantastic – look on winterhighland in the "public reports" section to see pictures of the run at Glas Maol.

I was also at Glencoe on Friday and while not as good snow conditions as Glenshee it was still very good.

I always thought the reason for the mobile ban was incase you dropped the phone and the battery fell out which could cause ignition with fuel?

Take a look at the Cowon range, had one of these (D2) until I got an iphone. Itunes works fine but it is a pain in the @rse using it between my home and office pc's.

In terms of using the actual device I don't think many can match apple for the interface but itunes does put a spanner in the works.

I'm not far off your weight (84kg) and have a Ragley Blue Pig – it'll happily do all the stuff you mention if you fit an adjustable work which I assume you would be doing anyway. I went from a Meta5 to the Pig and have not regretted it one bit.

Does all the riding I ask of it – mile munching, trail centres, DH and larking about in the local woods.
