Softshell here – Endura Stealth, does a very good job of keeping you dry also.

Anyone know any thing about this post?[/url] Just spotted it on an Uzzi posted up on the MBTR forums.

Anyone got any tips for racing in a hardtail? Currently got swampthings on it and will be lowering the forks to 110mm and locking them out.

Hora – if you are concerned about the weight of a minion there are new versions on the way that are 2.5 and folding although they look like they will be pricey (think Schwalbe prices).

Direct route for me is 2.5 miles, chilled cycle path route is 6.5 – I never consider the shorter route.

I never bothered putting any sort of “blanking” on mine, 3 years later still going strong.

Cheers heihei, I have The Ones on my hardtail and hope V2’s on the full sus. As the full sus will probably not see much action till next year I may swop over the brakes.

Interesting comments about The One’s in winter, mate has a set that give him no end of issues in the wet and recently I’ve noticed mine go “spongey” on prolonged wet rides. Anyone have similar experiences?

Just to check – are you tightening the topcap first then the stem in that order?

Schwalbe Fat Albert may be what you are after, I had the exact same issue as you and found UST choice limiting. In the end I just went for a 2.5 ST Minion on the front.

No mention of the Topeak Defender M2?

    Great bit of kit.

The only bad bits I’ve spotted thus far are the “puddle dodgers” making the paths wider to avoid getting wet.

    Maxxis DH tube is 430g

As for the shifter comments, the shifter moves the correct way – it’s the future!

I’ll be buying 10 pc’s, we have a mac (and the JesusPad) in the office which is more than enough :-)

Server does not need to be anything fancy – domain controller that I’ll be running SQL Server from. Network drives etc will be taken care of by other servers.

Was thinking around £350-£400 per desktop with win7 Pro (no monitors required) and around £4-£5k for the server with SBS Pro & CALS.

Basically doing an upgrade from XP on SBS 2003 network.

Cheers, I’m also going to get new server (will be runing Small Business Server Pro) – I take it you’d suggest trying someone else for that?

I've been using Juice Lubes Chain Juice Wet for a while now and rate it highly.

What tyres have you got on it? They are probably causing the most difference.

2.35 swampthings are decent in anything but loose, dry conditions.

I've got a set of 2.35 dual-ply maxxpro on the hardtail and they roll well in most situations and are obviously good in mud.

I'd tend agree, as a general rule the more posts the bigger the arguement…

Alpine bikes in Innerleithen hire DH bikes.

Ace, big bikes are fun – I never get anything near the potential of this one but I always have a laugh.

If you have version 2007 there is a free microsoft plugin that lets you "saveas" pdf.

It takes a few runs for the muscle to adapt – I get this everytime I have a layoff from running. As long as you are not over doing it an icepack will help.

Rondo – I have a 32T bash on my 36T chainring, it was "donated" from my previous bike and I've not got round to changing it yet. The chain sticks out a little bit so I'd recon a 32T bash should be fine for a 34T chainring.

I'd also have a think about an Uzzi, I have the older version which despite it's weight is a really good, able climber and can obviously handle most things on the DH side. It really is a proper do-it-all bike.

Here's mine from an xc route that was 38km and had 1500m of climbing. A lot of people on the mtbr forums are running them with 36's (totems on mine).

There were def more supporters than it looked like, there was a huge amount of noise when the local favourite (Gwin) was going down the track.

No issues with mine on the exact same setup on my Blue Pig, I always pump them up to the max rating on the tyre initially. I don't always run sealant either (serial tyre changer).

Running 2.2 mountain kings on an mmmbop seems wrong, the 2.4MK UST's I have are too small as it is…

DenDennis – Yep, previous triple and now 22/36 & bash.

There is an SLX 36T that is double only – I have that on my 22-36 setup on the older style HT2 XT cranks with no fitting issues.

I assume the difference is that it does not have the ramps on it compared to a normal middle ring that are for shifting up to an outer ring?

Zedsdead – I'd be up for that I'm in Glasgow but it's only a short spin down the Loch Lomond cycle route for me to get there.
