If what the gaurdian article says is true how will the yanks be able to deliver their tomahawk missiles through the letter box of a terrorist? GPS is military hardware and only the military can get the full accuracy that it can deliver so think that it is purely speculation that it will start to break down

Sorry but another vote for sealskinz are rubbish – worn under or over tights, with shorts with winter boots or summer shoes always the same result – wet feet and don't get me started on how much they shrink if you wash the cr4ppy things!!!

Polaris socks have done me ok for not too much money

Spiderman at Universal Studios Florida was in my opinion the overall best ride in Florida but also agree with all of the above that I have ridden, they are all great rides, also The Kraken at Sea World, The Hulk, The Mummy, Aerosmith Rock n Roller Coaster, Tower of Terror, The Dodgems – always a laugh, The ski jump at the ice themed water park in Florida, can't remember the proper name, a near vertical water slide that according to the clock at the bottom my svelt 16 stones was doing 52mph – keep those legs together peeps otherwise you will get funny shaped hairy earrings ;-)

Contact M&S insurance as falling off is accidental damage (unless you were riding in an organised event as the insurance doesn't cover that)

tyre lever to push pistons back in or if you have an old set of pads that are no good fit those and use a large flat bladed screwdriver, be careful not to use a screw driver against the pistons as they are easily damaged

Both my kids have had it, friend of my eldest has had it too, its all getting a bit worrying now it has started to kill young people with no underlying conditions, especially that baby who would still be full of her mothers defences etc, west mids seems to be one of the worst areas which is where we are

The RS might be a fun car to drive but having had one at work, the quality of it is dreadful, the bodykit is a different colour to the body, it fits where it touches, wouldn't give you £10 for one, your local back street body shop could do a better job of the body kit and what is it with using gloss black on the mouth, diffuser and spoiler, will be matt in next to no time.

As promised, bit of feedback from my weekend up there, rode Tawr on Friday afternoon and other then one rocky downhill section I thought it was pish, poorly signposted (missed 3 turns so added about 5 miles of fireroad riding), most of the sections lacked flow with rocks haphazardly strewn around for the sake of having rocks, lost all your speed to pick a line through then dab because you have no speed to carry you over the rocks hidden around the bend. Did Pont Scethin on saturday, nice proper ride, some of the ups turned in to hike a bike and there were some instances of sense of humour failure, however the downs and the scenery more than made up for it so would thoroughly recommend the route to everyone. Sunday we rode MBR before coming home, made Tawr seem even worse, found MBR better signposted (apart from there being no warning at the start that the final descent was closed which was a shame having to fireroad it back to the visitors centre) otherwise the climbs were more interesting and the singletrack was an absolute blast, nice and swoopy and flowy, able to pump the trail and carry silly amounts of speed through sections that were wet enough to keep you on your toes, the 2 CyB trails were like chalk and cheese.

Sits back and waits to be put in my place by experts

Yes, all the previously owned by Ford companies use the same parts bin, AM, Volvo and JLR, some of these parts even have the parent company logo on the B surface, not something that goes down well when spotted by customers that have shelled out £40k and above

This isn’t a dig at OP but questions like this always make me smile. If your suspension on your 2 month old car suddenly lost its damping capabilities would you ask on a forum about how to fix it or get on the phone to the dealer? If your 2 month old TV lost sound or picture, would you ask on a forum how to fix it or go back to Comet etc (other electrical retailers are available)?

Telephone CRC, arrange return, await resolution – simple :D

Raw material prices and poor exchange rates have ‘improved’ to justify the cost of new bikes, not sure we could do the same with our aluminium cars though

Had to use the rim strips on mine to get high rollers to seat, too much room with just the yellow tape and couldn’t get them to inflate, first time with a track pump with the rim strips (single ply wire beads)

Was there too, The Answer – very good, The Subways – utter shite, never seen such pap in all my life, only reaction from the crowd was the massive cheer when they announced this is our last song, AC-DC – outstanding, was in the stands and the sound was great, forgot how loud they were, 2hrs of the best rock music known to man, glad I saw them again.

Note to self – see more live music!!!

Went in to a hedge in January 2008, full impact was the front of my left shoulder, trip to casualty diagnosed a sprained shoulder, no fractures on the X-ray, off the bike for about 4 weeks, have been back and forth to the orthopaedic clinic and physio since then, only 70% range of motion and pain when in certain positions etc, scans etc have not picked up anything but there is an impingement in the joint so I am going under the knife in 2 weeks time. Would have preferred not to but am so fed up with not being able to do lots of ‘normal’ things (can’t get my hand behind my back so have to put a belt through my trousers with them on the bed, can’t wash the opposite shoulder easily because I can’t reach, can’t swim etc, etc) I am willing to take the risk.

Good luck and healing vibes to you

Update from last nights ride in a dry and dusty Wyre forest, dropped the pressures down to 28 front 30 rear and following the advice above tried to ride more aggressively and really lean the bike over in the corners, must say I found them to be much better so thanks for the advice, will continue to experiment with the pressures and try and develop my riding more towards a ‘Knights of gnarl’ stylee :D

Did find them able to cope very well with the devestation that the forestry has created over the kinlet side in the forest, negotiating what used to be a nice downhill section through the trees to the stream is now a pick your way across the logpiles techy section.

    thanks for clearing that up

I’ve not actually said anywhere that I want fast rolling, just that I have found the HR’s to be more draggy than anything else I’ve used

Used Swampthings last winter and really like them, more versatile than the trailrakers I usually use in the wyre mud

As also mentioned above once you’ve had a bad experience with something you never really trust it again.

Think I will go back to the Kendas purely as I know they work well and because trying different tyres can be a big drain on the wallet if you find they don’t work for you.

Will drop the HR’s to 25’ish front and 30’ish rear tonight to see how they grip then, remembering to get the bike well over on the bends to make best use of the side knobs

As posted above, I don’t get on with them, my technique/style/ability isn’t a good match for them, however, I do match other tyres so will go back to those, incidentally I tried going back to Cinders from the Kendas earlier this year and having ridden them successfully 3 years ago I also found the Cinders lacking compared to the Kendas.

Maybe kendas are good for cr4p riders and Maxxis suit good riders, seems to be the case with some of the above posts

of course, it’s bound to be me because I don’t agree with the stw massive, sorry for asking a constructive question, I will not question the ability of the equipment I ride, only my own

martinxyz – 2 year old Orange 5, RP23 shock serviced every 12 months and Float 140 RLC serviced every 10 minutes as per Mojo/Fox advice (every 6 months, oil and seals changed actually)

GW – glad you posted like that, having read other threads I thought we might get in to an argument over nothing, a bit of normality and understanding on here at last!

I do agree that technique can have a major effect on the way you judge things, and hence am agreeing that my not liking them is down to my riding style as my last tyres I found to be very good, the old adage horses for courses

Anyone want a pair of single ply wire bead 60a maxxpro 2.35’s? Approx 500 miles use but not showing signs of wear.

Having read all the above with interest, it’s a good job MF didn’t take her out as approx half of you would be on his case as a murdering car driver. I am truly amazed at the way people condone cyclists that ride like that and also the typical ‘i’m so tough’ comments about windscreen wipers etc

The whole world needs a big **** off chill pill
