    flatfish – I owe you a pint :D

After speaking to him yesterday (a locksmith) he talked me through how to open the door and last night it took me all of 30 seconds, thank god I have further deterrents and locks in the garage as I couldn't believe how easy it was. The mechanism has now been repaired and countermeasures taken to prevent further occurrences

once again a big thank you to flatfish

The door is not the only thing I rely on for security, ground anchors and big padlocked chains too.

It never goes down well in court when you headbut someone.
The psychologist comes along and says its a pointer towards deep violent tendancies and anger iss uesto use your HEAD as a weapon.
A normal/balanced person in this situation would use fists and attempt to protect the head.

Anyone with self defence training will know that you cannot effectively use your fists when an aggressor is this close, a head butt is a perfectly sensible use of force to diffuse a situation, as long as you strike once and effectively then the self defence plea stands up, 2 or more strikes and self defence goes out the window.

Simple things that make me chuckle are:

Seeing people walk in to glass doors that are pull not push to open
People stumbling on flat and unimpeding pavements
People dropping lunch down their fronts, even more funny when it's down a suit, shirt or blouse business attire.

I can only wheelie for one pedal stroke whilst clipped in as that results in me flat on my back 8O
    I can't manual
    I can almost bunnyhop
If I can get a fag paper between my tyres and the ground then I'm stoked at getting some phat air :D

I have an expensive bike, and injury permitting, I enjoy riding it very much

Yes, 2 bearings in freehub, outer one can be drifted out using the end of a screwdriver on the inner race, need to move the spacer across to get access, once outer is removed the inner one is held with a circlip.

So far then we have a fantastic array of amswers to how a jet engine works but no one has answered how jet airliners work.

Why can I see through the wings during takeoff and landing?
Why do the wings extend forwards and backwards before take off and landing?
Why do planes always feel like they have stalled as they are on their final approach?

I want to know how they fly

Scootash, all this bellyaching on here about Hope is unbelievable, just do what everyone else does, give Hope a call, send them your bottom bracket and within 2 days you are likely to get it returned not only with new seals but probably new bearings too and free of charge. Their customer service for customers who are able to speak is second to none, if you had gone one step further and visited them then they probably would've installed the BB in your frame too, best firm I have ever dealt with.

so no one has answered my questions about mixing the additives, we all know if you just pour one liquid in to another the added liquid is not distributed evenly unless further mixing is done. example, pour orange squash into water, uneven distribution, add water to orange squash and the mixing effect created by the larger added volume gives more even distribution. So how do they mix the additives in that create these improvements?

Do tankers have some sort of mixing system in them? Just asking because if the big players add stuff to stock fuel, surely this needs to be properly mixed in and then does it also need to be agitated in the tanks at the petrol station to prevent these additives settling?

I agree with the OP about feeling firmer, having run Nevegals with tubes then converted to ghetto, 30psi in tubeless felt, to my calibrated right handed squeeze, to be the same as 40psi with tubes.

The shoot out in Heat is awesome especially if you have a decent home theatre system, the sound of the bullets whizzing past when you crank the sound up is fantastic, it is one of my favourite films.

Also like Black Hawk Down, again the soundtrack is amazing, have had the whole lounge vibrating when the black hawk is hovering overhead just as if it was above my house, fantastic!!!

On a personal note I believe action films can never be too loud :D

Off to France this week and over there you have to wear trunks, baggies are banned at all the pools, admit I don't look very good in my trunks (to be fair I only look half decent in a welders suit and mask) but what a load of rubbish banning trunks.

Anyone know how the law on speeding tickets applies to hire cars? Is there a chance if I accidentally get caught on a camera that the hire company will charge my credit card that they swipe to cover the excess if I have a bump? Not triggered a camera yet over there as I generally pootle around but just wondering.

Tim, yes, after op they have told me not to ride until end of Sept, am climbing the walls at the mo although the karma gods have been smiling with the weather, apparently dry dusty trails will be available from the 25th September onwards for at least 2 or 3 days :D You on hols or having a slow patch at work?
