Last night in -3 I wore wool winter cycling socks, pair of goretex socks over those and then MW80 boots, cycling undershorts and event 3/4 with liner, on top I had long sleeve technical fabric base layer and my event jacket, spesh sub zero gloves, a buff under my helmet. Did just under 2 hours and the sweat was dripping off me, as above my camelback had a luke warm drink in it. comedy effect when getting undressed after was the four inches or so of leg that wasn't covered was bright red, looked like I had red topped socks on 8O
If there hadn't been the chance of snow last night I would've substituted the event jacket and base layer for a Gore Phantom N2S jersey. Have used these on their own over bib longs and once moving never felt the cold.

The things I dislike about the current trend of privacy glass as standard fit on vehicles are:

Difficulty in pulling out of a car park space due to not being able to see through the windows of the car next to you.
Difficulty at T-junctions and roundabouts, unable or reduced ability to read the road as every car with privacy glass alongside you is the same as a van/truck.

Having used vehicles with privacy glass I also recognise the benefits too.

Not my best year, shoulder injury from last year didn't help, finally had op in July, off the bike until mid-sept, 3 weeks after given the ok to ride had a big off, 6 fractured ribs and torn intercostals and a lung full of fluid, been out 3 times since and am uber mince-lite at the mo, looking forward to next year and getting some skills training to help with my general riding and improve confidence.

Health and safety will have outlawed by then due to the dangers involved in having to control anything yourself and the results of risk assessment will have closed all trails due to multiple insurance claims against council/land owner/FC or whatever, the nanny state will be upon us

OK, from the above we should ban humour as just about every joke on the thread about short jokes has something that could offend someone or something. Every popular comedian gets close to the 'line' and therefore should all be charged with offensive behaviour. I would use a smiley but as pointed out previously they offend people.

So mods, any humourous threads must now be closed immediately, all smilies must be removed, any subject that divides opinion must be removed etc, etc

    I despair

Having tried a 661 Core saver on earlier this year after fracturing 6 ribs I can say that it would not have helped one iota, I have fractured ribs twice in the last 18 months and both times they have involved impacts to the side under my arm, the core saver provides no protection in this area at all and nor do any of the other suits that I have looked at.

Someone mentioned Swindon as a failure, not much of a failure now as they have just been twinned with Disneyland Florida, there will be an exhibition about Swindon at the Epcot centre!!!!!

Original Austin Allegro estate, used to fold in half at the sills if the front wheels were lifted off the ground for towing.

Only gig for me lined up for next year is KISS at NEC, taking my youngest lad to it, should be a good spectacle if nothing else.

Still want to go and see Shed 7 at Brum O2 but no-one to go with, haven't seen them for years but they were always good value for money

So many I want to see but ticket prices are bit much for me to justify (could easily part with a grand on tickets next year)

Blair – if only for all the good he did with trying to recreate family values and a nurturing culture, the sure start system and children's centres, the things that are now just starting to bear fruit ready to be axed by the incoming tory government :( (Don't agree with ALL that he did though)

Think my experience is second only to gary_C, brand new pads removed from packaging, fitted to caliper and the friction material fell off the back plate as the disc slid between them, so swapped to a second set in the camelbak and they lasted about 3 miles, both sets made by a fruity company

Not had any wear issues since using genuine Hope sintered and organic pads

Not familiar with those actual products but have been running the original KEF 2005 with an Onkyo amp for the last 6 years and they still sound awesome, amp delivers 90w rms through 7 channels and in a room 19' x 10' they are capable of making your ears bleed without any loss of clarity and distortion, also very good with music but the sub needs knocking down a couple of notches otherwise music gets a bit bass heavy. If/when I am ready to upgrade would definitely start with the KEFs as a baseline. Also think the KEFs look nicer than the B&W's. As with all things like this try and get a demo.

I'm in the 'so what camp' here. My first car was a mini built via the 'G.O' system at Rover, brand new seam welded shell, full alloy cage with door bars, 4 point harnesses etc, 1380 engine built using David Vizards book, set up at Aldon automotive, 45DCOE, Kent 296 scatter cam, 1.5 rockers, incline big valve head, 4 bolt centre main strap, 138bhp at flywheel, straight cut drop gears, straight cut Jack Knight dog box, sounded like a machine shop coming down the road, not nice in traffic as nothing below 2500rpm, sounded awesome when hitting redline at 8,200 rpm. most fun I've had in a car, used to turn lots of heads due to the whining of the gears when pootling around town, 30mph meant 2nd gear to keep revs up.

Had car for 2 years, never stopped by the police once (drove very carefully and also had quite a bit of training on the track with it) and only complaint I had was my parents knew I was coming down the road as there was no suppressor on the alternator and it used to cause a snow storm on their tv :D

If you get something like a geko you will have to buy mapping software such as tracklogs or memory map, you then upload a route to the geko and follow the little arrow on the screen. My 201 is about 5yrs old now and still going strong, been used in all weathers and battery life is pretty good on rechargeable AAA's
