z1ppy, same one that my lad thought it was, by the sleeper bridge on the bridleway next to the river, an area my kids call pebble beach

lol, bet there not many ppl who know where that bridge is, any idea what the 'railway'(?) line it's on was for?
I assume you rode down the line, must be pretty damned scary with snow & ice on off-camber trail with a nice deep ditch to fall in

z1ppy, considering that bridge goes over a stream that runs along the bottom of Feckenham cricket club, obviously a 'long' time since you visited the 'ditch

Ready to venture back to proper stuff now but couldn't be 4rsed to drive anywhere, had 3.5hrs of fun in the snow locally

PSA – Do not ride across sledge runs, it ends in tears :D

Same here in Coventry, 50mm of snow at home in Redditch and freezing rain falling on top of it, over an hour to do normal 30min drive in to work, all aided and abetted by c0ck weasels that can only clear what the wipers reach, obscured lights and mirrors make for some scary manouveres(sp)

I have an old Olympus at least 5 years old, it has been dropped, kicked, driven over (reversed over camelbak, doh) used in +40 in France and at least -10 in the states, only 3.2megapixel and set me back over £200 when new, still works fine so no plans to replace it.

    Shooterman,

wifes family are from Ardfield, just outside Clonakilty, would also recommend that area too, miles and miles of sandy beaches etc and about 45mins from Cork airport. Beautiful part of the country although, as most of Ireland, there's not much to do if it rains (and it will!!).

votchy if you got a good run you could get across 2 fairways, a few were doing it sunday as it was a bit icier, v parky indeed at the top as you say

True, managed to get down to the bottom treeline from about 3/4's of the way up the main bank, only did it once as it takes too long to walk back across the 2 fairways 8O

We were there on Saturday, the main sledging bits are not on the golf course anyway (The Lickeys if any one cares), all manner of things being used as sledges, windchill at the top was a bit parky :D

We share a drive with 3 other houses, ours is the one at the bottom, drove straight up the drive this morning without any problems, just had a text from my wife, guy next door has just spent 40mins trying to get off drive and has now given up, leaving his car across the drive and within an inch of my wifes car, hope he moves it before I get home the stupid c0ck, really find it amazing that people do not know how to drive in these conditions

All the salt gets washed in to the rivers and doesn't do the fish any good, certainly puts them off their food as most fishermen will confirm.

Be careful if you use the grit bins and spread grit anywhere, any one having an accident on an area you have gritted can and may sue you as you are responsible, that is why our shared drive is always left snow/ice covered, it's not worth the risk with some of the 4rseholes in the world.

Took my boys out when I got home from work last night, 3hrs later we gave up because we were exhausted, had an absolute blast, pity I'm in work today as they are at home because school is shut.

They have just closed my sons school in Redditch, will be closed tomorrow as well, no buses running due to having about 2" of snow in an hour, how the **** are we supposed to just drop everything and collect the kids asap from the school office. The snow has stopped there now as well

See if you can try a new battery on it, mine does the same and a new battery transformed it even though the old one seemed ok, also think I may have an issue with the alternator as the poor starting has returned so think it may be the alternator not charging properly. With the glow plugs they are still heating after the light goes out, turn key and slowly count to 5 while listening carefully, you will hear the solenoid click off as the glow plugs stop heating.

Was still sloshing around yesterday in my tyres and it was -6 when we started and the bike had been on the roof rack for 1/2hr at 50+mph so seems to quite resistant to the cold
