Definatley Bot fly , you are now incubating larvae. Apparently you can hear them eat their way out when they are ready. :-)

Noooo! I missed it, damn the time jiggling fkery. On the other hand I did enjoy a decent ride on my bike & saved a lot of nerve jangling. Top result though :-)

I love my Anthem 2 also , it’s a 2015 & I bought it last year for £1174 , upped the forks to 120mm , fitted a dropper & 180 front disc (now warped). I like the light weight & the super quick steering but the front does get quite tucky on the loose stuff. Gonna try a shorter stem next, but now my Cove is up & running it will get a break from the tougher stuff.

I would guess that the implication is that two buildings with different construction design, materials and load cases would obviously not be expected to react the same way. To imagine anything else would be foolish.

IME its not a worn bushing but unfortunatley a combination of wear on the inner of the outer body & the outer of the inner shaft. I don’t believe it can be fixed when its worn & its quite easy to strip it right down to its component parts to inspect.

Essentialy the outer part has a rectangular shaped guide along the inner length of the body & the post has a slightly smaller rectangular protrusion along the outer length of the shaft. This unfortunatley wears & opens up all to easily with use, so a combination of wear on both the body & shaft is the issue.

If the post had hexagonal/octagonal guides instead of rectangular ones ,it would have more surfaces to resist wear, possibly?

My warranty replaced one is almost borked after a couple of months.

Adjusting mixture screw properly on a 4 can be a pita. The factory recomendations are fine when everythings nice & new, but with the sands of time, strange things happen. Dont be afraid to wind them in to see what gets a different result. In = lean Out = rich.

Also when it comes to carb cleaner , Honda do some that is streets ahead of anything else I’ve used, quite brilliant stuff. I dont think it would help you though, just saying.

How were the butterflys when you had the carbs off? obviously they should all snap shut crisply if you manualy open them on the pulley & allow them to snap shut. (idle adjust fully wound off).

I have had plenty issues in the past with corrosion on the butterfly spindals,it can also be caused by gummy deposits. I would think that if the butterflys close properly , the rev’s could not stay up.

I was up at it for the first time last week. I liked it a lot, I managed 2 runs from the car park to the top (Black) & down again in a baw hair under 3 hrs.

The climb is rather enjoyable & it was more my crappy technique that let me down on lactic ladder than my fitness, did a lot better the second time. The descent was great fun though but I was well aware that,

1 It was a Monday morning.

    2 I was by myself.

3 If it had gone wrong, like space, no one would of heard me scream.

(Visions of the Hound in GoT)

Highly recommended, shame it’s a 240 mile round trip for me though.

Nah it’s a new frame I’m building up. I have seen a similar deal on ebay from China 8O for £229.00. Buts thats without the calipers & stuff (which I dont actually need), but for £65 more with a pair of calipers/levers in the U.K. It’s gotta be a no brainer.

Thanks guys. When it works out with discounts, Wiggle are 1p cheaper & there is an illustration (but no mention) of centre lock discs, that would no fit my wheels anyway. It’s a shame their £40 off does not include cycle parts, but thats asking a bit much at this time of year methinks.

Ok well at least you know it’s on 1 cylinder only , I would swap (1 at a time) , the plug , the coil pack & then the injector with 1 of the cylinders that run fine & see if the fault jump cylinders with a component change. I do a lot of this on outboard motors. It’s interesting what Trustyrusty says about the regulator, I would not think that would effect 1 cylinder. But I could be wrong

Yeah those iridium plugs are pricey, my thinking was if they spark proper when its reving they will spark at idle. I have seen those iridium plugs in honda outboards still work when the electrode is almost gone.

Did you figure out which cylinder is missing?

Ah not like my old supertanker CBR1000FK then, seat of 2 M6 bolts & lift the tank. It even had a bonnet stay. Nostalgia now informs me it was brilliant.

Wait till it’s cold & start it with no throttle, quickly alternate touching each down pipe until they get too bloody hot. Obviously if one stays cold then thats the cylinder. Airleak maybe? On the inlet side.

    It’s no Hayabusa.

Just a thought when it’s proper cold it will be richened up on the cold start so may not run as poor, does it?

@ Alpineharry I’m usually a medium (58cm) but found an XS/S fitted better than Medium/Large

I’m also a 58cm & have the M/L , i thought it fitted great. But it was mail order so it was the only one i tried.

TLD A1 for me , a buff stops it stinking & it gets the hose fairly regularly. Nothing I dislike about it.

Terrible phone, work gave me one to replace the S5 mini I dropped . Even though the camera was rated the same as the Samsung it was bobbins & I found it really unintuitive to use. Lot’s of people in our Company had them & they were hated accross the board. Thankfully I got the screen on my Samsung replaced.

    I second the crap motion!

I recently went to order an O’neal full face helmet from Tredz & they wanted £20 to deliver it to Skye, Borger that.

I ordered the same helmet from Wheelies & got free delivery, they had to oreder it in but I didnt really care. Kinda weird considering they seem to be the same company. Well I ordered a Cube Aim a few year ago from Tredz & it came from Wheelies?

I have bought a few things from them & generaly they seem OK , the 2 week wait on my Cube however cheesed me right off!

Ratchet srewdrivers ? Bahco is where it’s @ imo. I’ve got the long , stubby ,& stubby T handle.

Used them daily when I was working for myself & they are still perfect 5yr on. Paired with a Mannesmann Screwdriver Bit Set 100 pcs and I never got stuck.

Bought my current Anthem from them & the service was perfect. I am currently pondering the same bike as yourself from them , but then I spotted the Merida one Forty 700 & it seems to spec better. Cant find much out about them though.

I wish they would both go out of stock to settle it.

My Anthem came in a Giant box & bars , wheels, etc were all unassembled.
