to those with the new new frame- what length stem are you running?

I’ve got a Large and running a 50mm at the moment. I have a 40mm that I was going to try but haven’t got around to it and not felt the need. Im just about 6ft.

Not the best but of the newish stuff, I really like brave new world. Some awesome tracks on there.

Yeah this has the new angles. I think the lower stand-over is noticeable, but I cant tell the difference of anything else.

Bit of good news on this, I got emailed to upload documents and pay few weeks ago and have sent off my mycic work permit application this week. Fingers crossed it all goes well and is accepted and I get my poe soon.

Would anybody like to give me job next Summer? 🙂

Yeah its a 2015 spitty. Absolutely gutted tbh but it happens. Dropped it off at local banshee dealer (skyline) today. Just sucks not being able to ride.

Duffman was one of my fave trails from Whistler. TOTW was perfect when we did it…Kinda wish we had gone into ride dont slide but we didn’t know what trail it was at the time.

I did the bearings on my Spitfire a few weeks ago. I haven’t touched them since I got the bike back in Oct so the bolts were really stuck. I had to use penetrating fluid and a punch to get them out. I used the superstar bearing tools (608 &6001 i think) to get the bearings out. the lower bearings were really stiff to get out but nothing that the tool couldn’t deal with.

It was fairly easy to do, but Id recommend getting the bearings extractors if you can.

She was never going to trouble the podium but on a borrowed bike and no training I think she did well. Also consider Rachel Atherton won by almost 10 compared to 2nd place.

Guys at skyline are good guys, not sure what you’re problem is, because you had to pay retail price for a tube at a shop?

Spent 2 weeks with them this July. Awesome in every way. Im just gutted to be back in the UK right now. Back next year for sure.

2 rounds this time. First round was a frantic rush to get everything filled in, and I was seconds out from submitting in time, again though I had a fast internet connection (work) but wasn’t enough and it slowed.

Round 2 all I had to do was log in and submit, but even then the page was slow to load. At first I thought I was in as had WTN but then realized it was in the 6000’s 🙁

Still a chance though. Maybe!

Just an update for anyone who’s interested.

The IEC application I was all ready for, However once it opens it was a lottery if you will get accepted in time. As it turns out the page struggled to load and in the end I’ve ended up on the waiting list. full quota is 5000 and Im 6000 and something. So whilst Im being positive its probably unlikely I will get in this year (unless a thousand or so people drop out 🙄 )

Still at worst a learning experience for next year. Bit gutted though.

yeah, but with less rocks. the red is more of a freeride line, I think it joins onto the black for the last bit but I haven’t been for a while so could have changed. still hurts when you crash but loam is softer 8)

Looks like I have a bit of play in my upper pivot linkage. Had it about 6 months, so not great but about the going rate for a linkage thats quite exposed. Probably get it through till May then change them.

Do I need a bearing press for this? Anyone done it on a spitty?

I kind of wish I had protected frame in some way as the spitfire decals are starting to rub off, but meh its a bike, and Im too lazy. 8)

I had some 3M heli tape on the fork but thats come off. Areas like that are ones that concern me as the cable is literally eating into the metal on the upper crown.

Looking sweet ahsat, Mines never been that clean since I had the frame in the box!

@bennn – Mine is Large frame, Im 6ft and feels good to me.

I haven’t weighed the bike. I would guess mine is a bit more than SOAP’s just due to the dual plys.

had it about 5 months now. Its awesome.

Running mine in the slack setting now. feels more or less the same climbing so cant fault it. Running dual ply 2.5 minions at the moment so its heavy. I will be going to exo once these run down though.

Im getting a warranty inline from cane creek as mine is leaking air.

If Will Soffe is using a DH bike there then you can bet that the trail warrants it.
