15-EXTRA worked the other day 🙂

http://www.bolsoveranddistrictcyclingclub.org.uk is well worth a go 🙂 I did and never looked back, they are a great bunch,
We do MTB rides at the weekends saturday development rides can be anything from easy newbee rides up to faster technical rides, sundays they have just started challenge rides longer harder rides peak district etc, there is also tuesday nights very fast training ride and wednesdays night ride, we also just do a ride if a few of us are at a loose end 😀
Have a look on the website, but also on facebook – bolsover and district cycling club 😀 We are very welcoming whatever your bike style,skill,speed,male/ female young/old 😀 you can even come and have a few rides with us before you join

Thanks for the input Herman Shake, I am not very skilled yet ( on here or riding 😳 ) I dont worry about the weight much I have enough of my own 🙂 I do go riding around the Peaks, sherwood pines etc so I may go for DD

Thanks ‘bearnecessities’ it was a cold morning at sherwood pines me Vic ( in orange ) and a friend Emma had planned a peak district ride but snow put a stop to that idea, One of the silver star balloons made a run for it and got away before time 😳 I put a little message on explaining what the balloon was for and a little bag of wild flower seeds, it snowed just after we let them go xx

Im thinking of going tubeless and I need to get new tyres I was thinking of getting some Nobby Nic, Would I notice the size diff, was running captain s-works 26×2.2 side wall failed after 5 rides so now using old panracers fire xc pro 26×2.1

I have checked the local ‘balloon filling shop’ im going back in the morning to get them filled, they have some nice silver star shaped balloon so a couple of those will help with the weight of the seeds (the wild flower seeds are in little paper bags so they will grow where they land).
We will be letting the balloons go from Sherwood pines and I will take some pictures xx

Im Derby way so will keep a look out

I found taking images through a scope easier with a compact camera than my bridge camera because when you put the lens up to the eye piece the compact fitted better and not as much vigneting, you can get adaptors to attach the camera to the scope. Are the birds far away ? You can get some bridge cameras with 400mm lens but I think thay may be a bit more money

If out on my own little bag with some tablets, plasters, wipes, little bandage and space blanket, If out with a group a bit bigger first aid kit 2x space blankets. Luckly only had to use wipes and tablets on a fellow rider who fell off, and 2 space blankets when I came across a couple of walkers one with a broken ankle they had phoned for help but had nothing much with them

I got a pair of army surplus goretex waterproofs from a local shop £15, I just put some velcro at the bottom of the leg to take up the slack 🙂

I have a mobi had it about 2 months now saving me alot of time ( dont have a hosepipe ) its good gets mud off, then a quick brush down with muck off type stuff or sometimes just a quick brush then rinse, sometimes I do have to do a refill if its really muddy 🙂

Brill keeps all goodies in 1 place in the car, how did I live without one 🙂

I never really got into drinking, tried a few flavours of beer/wine 1 glass normally never liked the taste and it made me very ill, so I just dont bother

Is there a camera club near to you, I found a good one with people who where very helpful,didnt mind telling you stuff ! and we go out in little groups sometimes 🙂
I know some clubs are not like this 😥
